The pictures ended up in another post and turned about. Don't know why. Hope these will give some idea of the problem. Thanks all, Graeme -

Thank you for that John. That is very useful information. And at a stressful time for you as well. My condolences for the loss of your lovely wife Margaret. To provide me with a suggested fix at such a time, well....you are a true gentleman. The wing is foam but covered with very thin obechi, ply, I don't know what it is. I'll take a couple of pictures to show the problem. Well a problem for me that is. all the best, John. Graeme -

Thanks Colin. That will be great. I have found this build very frustrating. All sounds easy but I have had some issues. Throw in several ARF builds and life in general and I end up with not much progress. I retired 14 months ago and assumed I would have heaps of time, but not so. Ah well. Having too much fun me thinks. Happy flying Graeme -

I understand what you are saying Leccyflyer. One of the major reasons for my slow building was fitting the retracts. i am using Aircraft Mechanics electric retracts. I have never used a foam wing before and it took awhile to figure out the installation. Now I'm trying to sort the plastic wing fairings that wrap around the leading edge and under the wing..They are quite springy and holding them in the correct position while the glue drys is going to be tricky. I am considering not using them at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Graeme -

I have been building this kit since march this year. Yes. I am slow. I am not sure how to go about fitting the "plastic wing fairings". I can see myself ending up with a mess. Any suggestions please from anyone who has built model? Thanks Graeme -
Deluxe Eze-Kote
Graeme Poke replied to Graeme Poke's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
I tried your method Andy on an experimental wing and it seems fine to me. I will overlap the center with the fiberglass wing covering as well which will give it another two layers of light cloth. So in all it will have four layers of light cloth. Hope that is sufficient. Graeme -
Blackhorse Heinkel112-B with a Saito 125. Some would say its over powered. Ii don't. It is so much fun. Superb flyer. The engine is 12 years old, it never stops, as good as ever. I have several Saitos and they just seem so strong. I also have a Laser 155 which is in a YT 72" Spitfire and that is a delightful combination.

Deluxe Eze-Kote

Thank you Martyn and Andy. I'll experiment with your suggestions before committing to the final join. I don't want to ruin a perfectly good wing which are no longer available. Cheers Graeme -
Would Deluxe Eze-Kote be suitable to apply to the fibreglass bandage when joining two veneered foam wing panels together please? Total wing length 1730mm. In the past I have used Z-poxy finishing resin. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Graeme

Hi onetenor, quite a bit of info on Wikipedia. In early 1933 the German government put out a tender which was basically for a fighter aircraft. Four companies made submissions, The Heinkel came second to the ME109. About 100 Heinkels 112s were built and mainly purchased by other countries. cymaz, an arf. Kiwikid has provided a link. Interestingly, it has "stubby" wings. Wingspan 1550mm, Length 1560mm but looks much bigger. In addition to the "Spitfire" wings, they are cranked, reminiscent of a Corsair. A bit of everything. But a terrific model and looks great flying. Cheers Graeme -

Thank you Paul. I love Spitfires and have four. Time for something new. While searching possibilities I came across the Heinkel and of course loved the wing. I knew nothing about them.It has become my favourite model this last four months. It flys superbly, looks great in the air, lands beautifully with no hint of a nose over and has proved to be the easiest warbird to manage I have ever had. A couple of more pictures so show off that lovely wing. Cheers Graeme -

I bought this Blackhorse Heinkel HE112-B December 2017. I have since had 70 to 80 flights. Just love it. -
Hi Phil, I have been using Aircraft Mechanics on my Heinkel 112-B, not tricycle of course, and they have been excellent. Cheers Graeme
