  3. It seems to me that the rc pilot to be trained as Navy TOP GAN...too fast and too expensive for the average rc pilot like me.Anyway thanks so much for pics.Rgds Joe.
  4. Hi Jon ! if you want try on www.rcstore.com-"Airplane engine guide" by Dave Gierke.Best Rgds Joe   pic belowEdited By David Ashby - RCME Administrator on 06/03/2010 19:21:57
  5. Good evening "Enterprise"! I think that will be not happened drastic technological progress, mostly because of the inability of harmonization of  techical capacity at the global level. In fact I still living on East part of Europe, and here things will be slower to develop,so that the scale "Spitfire",2.4 ghz TX and i.c. engine will always be hardly reaching target.....LOL...Mr.Ashby I wish you long and good life  your  Joe
  6. *Balsa (Sp) 1 any of several tropical American trees (genus Ochroma) of the bombax family that yields an extremely light and bouyant wood used for airplane models,rafts,etc.2 the wood. 3 a raft, esp. one made up of a frame resting on cylindrical floats. (From the WEBSTER NEW WORLD DICTIONARY).....ugh !
  7. I'm happy when I hear that some new young guys wont to fly R/C.They are probably less happy when we are initially set up a rules for beginners (build models from the kit etc).Undoubtedly would be good for all beginners learn on easy way...but unfortunately it is not possible.New times-new methods.  P.S.I agree with Jonathan and Ulty ,and also think that minimum TX channels is 4.Because a rudder is disastrous for any beginner....back  to me nightmare from the past.
  8. Dear Stephen ! I was glad to read your writings.I'm also lucky one,who likes ARTF ,and I remembered the statement of Mr.Alex Whittaker -"ARTF first low winger are a gift from heaven. You du not have too much emotional attachment, they're quick to build and replace, and they're usually very good value for many. This last point is important, for although safety is paramount, you need to feel that you can take some risks as you expand your aerobatic flying skills." (abt, Super Sport 40,RCM&E,Aug.2005).Few days ago I bought my first aerobatic:"Extra 330 L"-50-''CMP,in Austria.Best regards Joe
  9. Hi Eric ! Maybe I'mlate, but if you want to click on:www.hobbico.com  ,and  than click on "NexSTAR"artf trainer (watch the video). This model trainer is one of the best in the world and has following characteristics:wingspan 69''/lenght 56''/weight 5.5 lb,requires engines.46-.55 cu in .No matter what you choose,I wish you much happines and satisfaction. Best regards Joe
  10. The model is really ugly, but the pilot was brilliant, see the recovery and lending...every respect and honor
  11. Hi All ! You may not have high expectations for 100 pounds,if you du not want to make a private technical innovations.Another solution is the level of abt 200 pounds (for size of 50''), where you can expect higher quality.Personally I'm satisfied with the"CMP" ,of course, by my work and extra materials for betterment .I prefere ARTF,because it allows more times for flying, more space in workshop, less balsa dust and more walking with my grandchildren.                                        Best rgds Joe
  12. Hi  All ! I really did not want to open "The Pandora box" (more like ARTF box).It heppened accidentally by my wrong estimates of Stephen age.never mind, good to him.I still LOVE my old semi scale (50'')- Spitfire Mk Vb. Best rgds, specially  for Stephen !  Joe.

  14. Dear ! When I read BEB's mail,I want to thank him for a nice description of hard question-Why we prefere some models.BEB's wa said :"THAT ONE THAT ALWAYS GETS THE HEART BEATING A LITTLE QUICKER ! " now is easy to select, for me offcoorse The winner is : Old semi scale Spitfire Vb (Leon -Taiwan),although, she is hard to flying,to fast and stubborn...but love is blind.                                                     best wishes for all  Joe.
