  1. That looks very nice in the flesh. Will be ordering one. To add the foam discussion I've dunked my Heron twice, tip stalled after an atrocious hand launch (my fault) and ploughed into the strip fast during a low inverted pass. Both times I expected write offs but each time minor damage was all that occurred. Wings separated in both incidences. You can't beat foam for crashability.
  2. Sounds like a great plan.
  3. A bottle of nice Port. A bottle of Baileys. A shaver. An Amazon voucher. A book about the Atlantic war. A book about the Falklands war. A Ritzenhoff Wheat Beer Glass. Some chocolate dipping twirls. A Neebo Torch. Airfix 1/72 Vulcan (new tool) forward order. And thanks be to the heavens no socks or slippers. 🤗🤗😣

    Screen Size

Thanks for your feedback all. Considering I've a bought a new TV about every 7 years trying to future proof myself I've treated myself to an LG 65" OLED BX model. Wow... very impressed with the image quality. Not that I could afford it but I could have got away with a larger size. Wonder what the technology will look like in 7 years time. John

    Screen Size

Hi All, Contemplating replacing my 46 inch Panasonic LCD with a larger, newer model. Wondered if anyone had gone through the same process and what you'd gone for in terms of size and technology. Any advice gratefully received. John
  6. If the prizes are unclaimed I'll save the trouble of storing them. Postage paid.

    Strictly 2020

    What is strictly 2020 ?
  8. That looks Gorgeous . I've been looking for something a bit bigger than my much loved Heron. Struggled to find anything to meet my criteria. Multiplex know how to fill a gap. Thanks Steve for the post. John
  9. This years Advent draw seems to have recruited rather a lot of new members, can't wait to see their future contributions and modelling pics
  10. A good watch. Was fortunate enough to enjoy the taxy ride experience in NX611 last year. I got the upper turret position for my excursion, it brought into focus how hellish it must have been to fly and fight in them. The museum is also an amazing tribute to Bomber Command with focus on operations from Lincolnshire. As a bonus we had a great cockpit tour and chat with the pilot of the day who was an ex Lancaster BoBMF pilot.
  11. Self service checkouts in general.
  12. People using self service checkouts with a trolley full of stuff. ( it happened before Covid) People who position their trolley parallel and right up against the shelves/chillers whilst also standing behind said trolley thus blocking a considerable amount of goods, sometimes amplified by the trolley driver staying at the controls whilst their gatherer spends an inordinate length of time dithering over a tin of soup.
  13. My understanding is the reverse wearing of baseball caps is rooted in the pioneering days of early aviation in America. Have a look at some early aviators, they wore some caps back to front in open cockpits for obvious reasons I believe. Edited By Devcon1 on 27/10/2020 06:41:53
  14. How about misuse of disabled parking bays at supermarkets. They seem to be , in my experience, big new expensive cars, young boy racers and vans. I guess they are not enforceable but purely there on trust so if you have no social shame then. I wonder what would make these ignorants respect the rules. Edited By Devcon1 on 25/10/2020 08:14:42
  15. TV News presenters when reporting on flooding taking great care to make sure the shot pictures them standing, calf deep, on the edge of said flood. Same with getting close to waves pounding over sea walls. Also those news reporters  in front of camera with serious outdoor clothing, gloves, woolly hat, scarf etc when it's really not cold. 16. Re the 109. I wonder if some have been emboldened by the recent repair/restoration programme that featured the old David Boddington model.
  17. Devon Air Ambulance on a recce/training flight. Pin point accuracy.
  18. Given the police/authorities have publicly acknowledged they can't enforce the rules as they are I wouldn't change a thing. I don't think model flying clubs will ever feature as workload for the test and trace teams. Sadly we're not in the demographics that are attracting attention. I'm happy that I can fly models without risk to others even if I were carrying the virus.
