  1. I left some petrol in a plastic bottle meant for 2 stroke oil a few years ago, only for a couple of days and it turned the plastic to a sort of jelly consistency, so depending on the type of bottle, if its not meant for petrol, perhaps it is leaching into the bottle material its-self
  2. Wasn't the Delta 8 RX at least partly designed by someone who frequents this forum too ( if my memory serves me correctly )
  3. just divide the price in dollars by 1.67

  6. Posted by John Privett on 07/03/2014 00:11:51: Posted by Monz on 06/03/2014 23:56:30: My wee business runs on GBP, not USD, I select it to see what I'll be paying in GBP to save me using a $ - £ converter to see what I'll pay. But that's my point. The converter doesn't tell you any such thing. It tells you roughly what you would have paid when they last updated the rate, which could be 6 or 7 months previously. It doesn't deter me from buying from HK, but it is something to be aware of. Paypal have a rate, each bank has a rate, every different currency exchange you could pick could have a different rate, some charge a fee for conversion some don't, and it can change every 5 seconds Hobbyking could not say exactly what you will pay in £ as until you pay they don't know what method you are going to be paying by and what that individual rate will be, the most they can do is a guesstimate, its not a big deal, the £ is doing better against the $ lately anyway so its a nice surprise when it works out cheaper at the checkout

It tells me it was delivered on 11 January - which sounds about right. There's no mention of a 'GB' tracking number though. perhaps its changed since it happened to me, not that it really matters, all I wanted to get across is the fact you can track your parcel using parcel forces website with the number given in your HK account
  8. most of the time it is a delay at customs or something in this country which parcel force would know of but they seem to inform parcel force of the package in advance, from when it is sent, I expect it has something to do with some sort of agreement between worldwide shipping companies for their own countries final journey, as USPS parcels I`ve had are the same. You can track the original number from a certain point abroad, then when they arrive here they are then assigned a different number ending in GB which parcel force also tell you if you track the original number Jan 25th to Feb 5th would be the time of Chinese new year, people say everything shuts down there for a while so that is probably the reason it didn't leave for a time
  9. Posted by Erfolg on 01/03/2014 17:15:30: At my account, clicking on the reference has no effect. I have made HK aware of this. I have now been informed by HK that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to investigate. As the value is so low I may just reorder. As I said above, Copy and paste that code into the parcel force web page and it will tell you on there

  11. Posted by Erfolg on 28/02/2014 19:54:30: It was coming from China. I have a tracking reference, although I can not access the details. HK have been made aware of the issue. its very easy to check the tracking details, if you go into your HK account, next to the points you have it says "CHECK" in blue, click that and it takes you to your orders page to the right of the green ticks there is a code, copy and paste that into Parcel forces track and trace page and it will tell you where your parcel is p.s. 30 ish days ago was Chinese new year time, expect that to cause a delay aswell Edited By Codename-John on 28/02/2014 20:46:52
  12. You could try a subject access request to GCHQ or the NSA, they hold a copy of everything everybody post`s on the internet
  13. Sanding, things like leading edge and big block wingtips etc. I used to dislike heatshrink covering too but now I have mellowed to it, I seem to have got my technique down quite well, the little proper covering irons, decent scissors and brand new scalpel blades every few cuts help a lot
  14. Posted by Dave Miller on 08/02/2014 07:55:57: It does beg the question, is it worth this sort of hassle to deal with this company, especially whilst they have a defective website? there is 3 parties to the payment process, you, paypal and Hobbyking there are probably thousands of transactions between the latter 2 everyday that are fine, it only seems to be you having difficulty with the payment process, yet you place the blame at a "defective website" that works perfectly for many many other people ?
  15. if he picks it up he can claim you havent posted it / he hasnt had it, but if he`s picking it up why not pay cash anyway he can claim once he has got it that it isnt as described and you`d have to go through the paypal process where he could claim some money back, his payment, if by bank transfer could not be honoured through the bank so if thre is no back up funding source the money will be charged back, and to top it all off the fee for recieving that much will sting a bit
  16. I am mearly telling what happened to me, I do not know the whole "law" around the matter, all i know is thats what my solictor said in the court and i was let off In an earlier post it was said without camera evidence it takes 2 officers to both judge you, perhaps because this one was a lone, motorcycle officer was part of it, perhaps as the video equipment was not kept correct perhaps the speed measuring equipment wasnt either ? I dont know, but thats what happened
  17. Posted by Depron Daz on 02/02/2014 19:36:29: Reading a previous post about the time being wrong on the policeman's camera is surprising why this didn't stand in court. and questions why the officer didn't notice this issue. Im not advocating speeding or any form of purposely driving outside of the regulations of the road traffic act but - It was him that pointed it out to me at the side of the road, he obviously tried to scare me into admitting it at the roadside by saying it wouldnt matter in court but it quite obviously does and any half decent solicitor will pull it apart in seconds. if i can prove myself at a completely different location by 2 or 3 different means of evidence at the time of the alledged offence, such as a petrol station receipt, cctv, card statement etc, compared to one incorrect bit of evidence, then I cant have been 40 miles away speeding could I
  18. The NGH 9cc was marketed as a .46 glow equivalent engine, so 1cc more wont be much more, i`d tend to agree with the equivalent to a .50 glow suggested on the other thread, Go with the 15cc and you can always reduce the throttle
  19. They got taken over by the owners of this forum etc Mark, the name has changed to GiantShark, they are still good on price and delivery, if what you want is in stock
  20. Futaba upgrade page - see here you have to upgrade to software version 3 first, then install the speech upgrade The only thing is, Dont you ever sometimes go to the field just to get away from nagging female voices, do you really want your Tranny doing it too ? lol
  21. Posted by Bucksboy on 21/01/2014 21:05:02: I can't understand the poor instructions to set the time and date. Thats not a problem, easily overcome in a written statement that would need to be given in tandem with any video evidence. I bought it as it can't hurt to have it, even though it only covers the view out of the windscreen. on the contrary, a few years ago, i was pulled for speeding by a motorcycle officer from west mercia police, who having not changed his bike video camera`s time 1 hour forward for british summer time tried to prosecute me, thankfully at the time shown on his video, i was back in north wales buying diesel with a till receipt and cctv to prove it, therefore i could not have been in shrewsbury at the time he claimed on his video evidence, case dismissed in court, nil poit
  22. Posted by Plummet on 21/01/2014 18:20:17: The daftest case I have seen lately - There was moderate traffic. There were a number of trucks in the LH lane, but well spaced out. I was overtaking one of them. I was following another car (A) at a good distance. A car (B) joined from a slip road into the gap in front of me. It pulled across into the middle lane in front of me. Quite reasonable so far. There was no traffic in the outside lane but the driver in B decided to overtake A, and pulled left and undertook it when there was no reason at all not to overtake it normally. If there was enough room and time for B to undertake A then wasnt there enough time for A to move back into the left hand lane as you are supposed to after overtaking a vehicle ?
  23. Posted by Lima Hotel Foxtrot on 21/01/2014 16:49:43: I recently installed a dash cam due to some of the stupidity I was witnessing on the roads. I can't report if the police actually respond to citizens uploading footage in accordance to websites such as POLICEWITNESS because I haven't seen anything really dangerous or unlawful... Yet. Does anybody else have one? its not just a video of an incident you need to convict somebody, as with cctv in shops for thieves etc, your camera footage must have a time and date stamp ( correct t + d obviously ), you would have to do a written witness statement to the police, be willing to attend court if necessary etc etc. You may make a few enemies along the way too
  24. Also the 14SG has had an update for voice alerts
  25. Other than my usual Weston Park, Cosford etc I want to hopefully catch some of the North West Warbird meetings and the RedBull Air Race at Ascot in Aug too, maybe some full size at Southport aswell if it doesnt get cancelled again this year
