  2. Posted by Terence Lynock on 27/10/2011 23:53:43:   Seperately, what happened back in 1942 and the previous ruling party in Germany, that is history and wont help us in 2011 so leave it be. The world is a totally different place now with its own problems undreamed of 65 years ago. Edited By Terence Lynock on 27/10/2011 23:57:00 an extract from the book i linked to from the first few pages about how the EEC should be put across - { Firstly, it is limited in regard to its own economic development by the recognition that the utilisation of individual resources represents not only a requirement of the new economic precept, but is the very foundation for economic activity. The European economic community has no interest in leaving any abilities or possibilities unutilised. Secondly, it contains the obligation that, because of Europe’s freedom, consideration is given firstly to continental Europe regarding any matter related to economic activity. Not only should the shared fate of the European people be emphasized, but the fact should also be stressed that the supplementation of the European economies beyond their borders is possible and sought after. Thirdly, it must be maintained that, above all else, the spirit of the individual economies may not be allowed to go against the spirit of neighbourly co-operation.}   from the second paragraph, where do all the decisions for europe get made, Brussels, Germany and France as has been said we follow everything that comes from Brussels, everybody else ( in continental Europe ) picks and chooses, we`re always hearing that if europe fails, we all go down with it, or we "share its fate" and are we not "supplimenting other member states economies such as Greece, Ireland, Italy etc, From the 3rd paragraph, David Cameron himself said the other day likening the economies to your neighbours house being on fire, "if your neighbours house is on fire, you should help them put out the flames before the fire spread to your own house"   co-incidence ???
  3. i suppose batteries might not burn through the bag but as theyre not airtight youl still get the smoke id imagine, so i dont really see the point, just charge them on an fire resistant surface, i use an old ceramic tile
  4. yes there is a system, details are here
  5. Usually if something seems too good to be true it probably is, i dont know about classified ads on there etc but if you paid via paypal he`d be taking a % hit on the money you send him too as it costs the seller money to get paid that way, im fairly sure theres a system to find out if caravans are stolen, still subject to finance etc like there is with cars so might be worth checking it out that way too
  6. It all stems from the Europaische Wirtshaftsgemeinschaft created in Germany in 1942, this is the english translation of it, its long winded but you might recognize some of the stuff from as it has happened already, i know it contains the N word some of you are so offended by, but if we can have swastika`s on our planes, as demonstrated in the fw 190 video thats been posted by one of the moderators i dont see any problem, and this as its quite informative and gives some back ground information of who wrote the Europaische Wirtshaftsgemeinschaft
  7. it depends, i use bekra fuel, engines are tuned as spot on as i can but i still get a pinky coloured residue, it maybe just the colour of the oil in it, especially if its synthetic
  8. jeeez and crackers, ive always thought of slope soaring as a slow kind of thing, wait for the wind to blow you up, have a little fly round slowly floating coming down, then wait again to go up, that last vid its like a rocket, might have to have a look further into this now with the hills and wind round my manor, what have ya done to me ! lol
  9. youd be a whole lot better off using fully insulated spades too as that possibly rattling around in your fuselage causing a potential dead short could do a hell of alot more damage than just burning your motor out, perhaps something like this would be more secure, using your own esc cables instead of jointing onto the loop      Edited By neil whilding on 25/10/2011 21:29:30
  10. the link doesnt work on either of your postings
  11. fair weather flyers, your all chickens lol, our site is on top of a big hill really out in the open, if we didnt fly in wind i think we`d have about 10 days a year to fly, i maidened my new kyosho spitfire 50 in it today, using the short runway cos of the direction, had a bit of a heavy landing cos it just would not come down, had to hold the nose down and force it downwards and then 10 ft off the ground sods law the wind dropped, nothing a bit of under carriage straightening didnt sort out but the way the years been i`d be waiting until next april to maiden it otherwise
  12. i have both of them sitting around idle, motor too, Pm me yor address and ill send them you if you`l re-imberse the postage, like your friend i bought one before i joined a club etc and went out trying to fly by myself, didnt set CoG, and it ended in disaster, front end and wings were fine tho, i have the instruction booklet too somewhere i think you can have also
  13. its better to solder if you can do a good job of it, the size difference of cable wont matter, its getting a bad joint and/or not insulating each conductor properly that will, one other thing i`d have them both the same length after the y lead, i know its only a short extra run but at low voltages the extra resistance may affect the power getting to the longer servo making it not as strong as the other
  14. one of these and a spare 1600 hours to build it please ole chap, ive been very good, sometimes
  15. i run 2 tanks through first, turn needle all the way in, then back it out 2.5 turns and start it, then run it at peak rpm for about 5 seconds, keep throttle wide open through out, back needle out until its running slowly, very rich and sounds like a four stroke, run it like this until it cools down, a couple of mins, then back to peak for 5 seconds, back to rich till cool and repeat for 2 tanks full, then run it slightly rich in the air for about 5 tanks and robert`s your mothers brother
  16. Probably still cheaper per watt of heat than mains gas tho i assume ? I did a nice electrical heating job for a client last week, theres some lovely electric radiators on the market these days and boy do they kick out some heat, with economy 7 or whatever it works out fairly cheap to run too
  17. ive used them a few times for various things, never had a problem, always delivered from UK very fast, Copied and pasted from the about us section - We order directly so the savings are always passed on to the customer. In my eyes that clears up who the importer is, and the fact that we order from a uk based website, as stated underneath where it says RCM&E supplier of the year or whatever, means that we are purchasing a product from the uk, if it were to come from honk kong and got stuck at customs who tried to levy a charge, simply dont go and get it them claim a refund from giantcod for an undelivered item, simples
  18. there was a programme about that neutrinos thing on bbc2 earlier, i was baffled, before tonight the only time ive heard of neutrino was one half of a garage music duo in the early noughties lol
  19. on my mustang some of the formers above the wing have an arch sort of shape in the bottom and this is where the air bottle for retracts fits, there are usually former sections on the plan showing things built up from head on, might be on there somewhere ?
  20. absolutely gutted for you ,   if its any consolation the techniques and tips youve shared while building have helped and inspired many other modellers along the way im sure, myself definatley included,   so in the BoB quotes that have run through the thread (cant remember wether its actually in the film or not ?) its gotta be said, "never in the field of modelling conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few"
  21. ive emailed flightline graphics about some insignia and nose art masks, he said hes rushed off his feet at the moment because of an article in the bmfa mag, so cant manage for about 4 weeks, got to agree with him being the best, some of the work on his site is absolutely amazing
  22. ye ive had to file mine to get it to fit too, still waiting on my epoxy to arrive for the wings before i can do anymore, cant fit the wings until the scoop underneath is in place cos thats where the dowels fit
  23. im doing the cambrian p-51 at the moment, its more or less the same build except for the shapes by the looks of it, ive had to use an sc .25 with the front fitted needle valve as the cowl is very tight and the supplied slec mount quite short, with the engine fitted as far forward as possible on the mount it lines up nicely with the amount of balsa block supplied to carve the cowl out of and spinner ring but theres only just enough room to get the fuel pipes past the engine through the hole in the firewall. I also didnt know about poly c on veneered wings so tried it and did get rippling in a couple of places, so i removed the cloth halfway when i spotted it and weighted the veneer back down to dry out, its not so bad now, more shallow grooves than anything so ill fill it back flush and epoxy glass the wings insted, also ive gone with a separate servo for each aileron as i found that the supplied torque rods were too fat to fit once id sanded the trailing edge to profile, i tried thinner ones but got some glue in the tube and made them stiff
  24. terence, you need to stop believing government propoganda of how co2 is bad for the environment, just as you think speed is the major cause of accidents, co2 has nothing to do with global warming, its just another thing they can measure and tax you more on the more you produce, same as speed, if they can measure it and make money off it then your indoctrinated into believing that its for your own good so you put with it what heats our earth up, is it maybe the enormous mass of burning gases out in space we call the sun, since the end of the second world war co2 production has increased massively, the temperature hasnt, the hottest years we`ve had, just happened to coincide with the most solar flare and sunspot activity, but you cant be taxed on what the sun does, like the mini ice age predicted for this winter, because the suns activity is predicted to be less than normal, if co2 is so bad with the amount of it now shouldnt we be sunbathing over xmas insted, dont believe everything you are told, do a bit of research and make a judgement, if you have a spare hour this is well worth a watch Edited By neil whilding on 13/10/2011 19:08:47
  25. Posted by Terence Lynock on 13/10/2011 15:32:54: In the long term there needs to be changes to the type of cars we drive, the design of motorways and ultimately the attitude of the driver, cars will need to have smaller high efficiency engines more suited to the roads they are on, whats the point of 400 bhp if you can only use 100 of it and the other 300 is burning fuel needlessly?.     i dont see your problem with bigger faster cars terrence, if that is what people wish to drive then why would you have a problem with it, a car has always been seen as a status symbol, that is even how they are marketed, its like saying why have a 1/4 scale spitfire or something when you can fly a little electric glider, variety is the spice of life as they say, its boring enough driving on motorways as it is, which is where the lack of concentration, people falling asleep at the wheel etc comes from, can you imagine if every car was the same little 100 cc bubble car from the jetsons too
