  1. I`m a political Atheist, and until direct democracy is the standard I will remain so I also think that political parties should be abandoned, each elected representative from each area should stand alone in his or her decision, not be "whipped" into line to vote with whatever the so called leader of the party wants, and each and every decision taken by every MP in parliament should be available for public scrutiny at any time. Manifesto`s should be legally binding unless there is public consultation to any changes, Lobbying and party donations akin to Bribery should be made unlawful. A Recall Bill such as the one Zac Goldsmith recently tried should be implemented. Expenses should have to be signed off by a representative group from the MP`s constituency. etc etc, maybe then I may have some faith in "democracy"     Edited By Codename-John on 22/05/2014 19:08:39
  2. Fairly certain I saw an F22 Raptor whilst driving home yesterday afternoon, It certainly looked like one from the distance I was away anyway unless anybody knows any different ? 4:15 ish on the A483 between Chester and Wrexham, Only a few hundred feet high and going quite slowly, going west so I presume towards Valley maybe ?
  3. The Battle of Britain is on channel 5, only just started, if your that bored lol
  4. Posted by Masher on 10/05/2014 15:15:32: Bought a leisure battery this morning from Halfords. Probably cost you nearly twice as much going to Halfords than an independent battery seller or even caravan store etc, I picked up a 110Ah leisure battery for less than the price of Halfords 70 Ah last year
  5. Posted by Chris Anthony on 10/05/2014 14:49:21: Also, could I possibly hi-jack this thread, and encourage people to continue posting Spitfire options, even though Masher the OP now has his model. I have exactly the same requirements as Masher; an ARTF Spitfire that must be wood and IC. Around the 40 size would suit me well. Thanks! Kyosho spitfire 50, flew great on a 56 4 stroke so 40/46 2 stroke world be fine too
  6. I have, bought a mini frantic kit, had excellent service and great kit too, I think they may be Avicraft in disguise or have some association to them anyway as the Frantic is an Avicraft kit, but don`t quote me on that
  7. Posted by John Olsen 1 on 07/05/2014 02:27:32: Provided the truck can reach the desired takeoff speed in a suitable distance, speed should not be a problem. But what occurs to me is that the plane is sitting on the trailer at a fixed angle of attack. If that angle is too low then it will not generate enough lift to fly. OTOH if the angle is too high then the wing will be stalled. Normally as you reach flying speed you can adjust the angle of attack using the elevators, eg a tricycle U/C type will rotate, a taildragger type will have lifted the tail at a lower speed and will put it down slightly to lift off, and a floatplane, will be up on the step and thus able to change the angle of attack to lift off. Sitting on a trailer makes that a bit difficult, so you would want the angle to be about right. I think the camera man is a bit brave too, if the plane lifts enough to come forward a bit and then stalls he would be mincemeat. John Isnt that why the floats are not completely flat but angled at the back tho, so it can rotate ?
  8. LOL I`ve just had one claiming to be Natwest, Looks like they've even given up trying to be convincing now - it says : TO - Undisclosed recipients FROM - "NatWest Bank Plc" <[email protected]> SUBJECT - Hello Dear Valued Customer, Please Click Here (link removed) to View Your Account Summary Account Status Regards National Westminster Bank plc I mean come on, if anybody is daft enough to fall for that, then sorry but they shouldn't be in charge of an account to begin with, Plus I don't even bank with Natwest !
  9. Lol, This big ugly thing is a regular occurrence too, taking the wings from Airbus in Hawarden over to somewhere in France I believe, Flies so low you could almost throw stones at it
  10. We get the police helicopter around here quite often
  11. Might it be something to do with your "cookie" settings or similar, once Ive logged in it automaticly goes to UK and when Ive chosen £ instead of $ it seems to stay on it
  12. You could also try a spray made for tinting rear car lights darker, You can usually get it at Halfords etc, something like this
  13. they`re back now, I couldn't see them 10 mins ago but everything`s fine now
  14. Hot glue might be good for the catch as you need to fill in around between the plate on the bottom and foam and the gap above the plate too, when the glue cools it will stiffen it up well, Gorilla glue is also very good, especially for things like under carriage plates etc, just make sure its held in place well as the glue expands, so not as good where there`s moving parts The plastic hatch keeper is not very well designed as mine and as couple more I know of became very loose, you only need a little bit of the foam holding it in place to break and its nearly useless, the good thing is with the battery being in there so tight there aint much chance of it falling out if the hatch goes awol
  15. Where is the shortage of FASST compatible RX`s also ? theres loads on ebay, T9 Hobby sport have got loads, even Giant shark have got some !
  16. I had the Kyosho 50 size with an OS 56 Alpha engine, lovely plane to fly but I was a little too inexperienced for it and it bit me on landing, build quality is excellent and all the supplied fittings were great too including retracts, for the money they are definitely worth considering
  17. click where it says Sickle in red on Simon`s post KingKade
  18. It looks a lot like the "The World Models" one from Steve Webbs, they are the UK distributer for them so maybe they could get hold of spares ?
  19. Posted by D for Donald on 13/04/2014 22:53:10: Luckily there are still a good number of suppliers here but I'm told a lot are struggling because of the likes of HK are killing it. Its called global capitalism, you either adapt your business to be competitive in new environments or you fail. Its not the fault of the emerging business that their business model is successful, if its what people want, it will prosper, if it isn't then it wont. By just laying the blame at someone else`s door and not trying to do anything about it makes it their own fault, The world is changing every day and you have to make yourself competitive not just rely on regular customers propping you up
  20. Posted by avtur on 12/04/2014 18:36:37: Is anyone going to the UK round at Ascot in August ??? Got my tickets booked already, there`s a bit of an early booking discount before the end of April
