  1. Hi Nigel, yes a lot of foamies are hinged this way. Where the foam has broken away run some 'Blenderm' tape but make sure there's plenty of up and down play.
  2. I had hoped that some one would publish the photo of the static 'Chippy' that some wag had fitted with a in-flight refuelling probe.
  3. Having lived and thoroughly enjoyed the last 35 years living in James Heriot country, try going into a chemist and asking for 'amyl nitrate', it's for silvering my engine officer' see how long your feet remain on the ground.
  4. Without dropping into a sub 3 - 4 Yorkshireman sketch, I remember my Dad having to split razor blades 'cause you couldn't buy one edged versions, let alone scalpels. Mind you could buy chemicals, for diesel fuel, that's illegal now-a-days.
  5. I bought a charger off them that was duff, I don't mean the Simpsons beer, it cost me to send it back and when they decided it was their mistake they refunded the price of the charger but not the price, £6.75. of postage. Avoid this company like the the plague.
  6. Well finally got free gift at 0710am this morning. With all the trouble that has occurred since the 27th November 2013, when I first asked for a gift subscription for my brother for Christmas, the lack of communications, the request for proof that I had already payed, the request from David Ashby to 'PM' him (whatever that bit of jargon means), the quadcopter arrived on my doorstep very early this morning and has only taken £5.20 out of my pension to send on to my brother. I don't think that in future I'll be bothering very much with RCM&E, after all there are plenty of other magazines on the market. All in all a very unpleasant experience.
  7. My LMS is, as mentioned by others, is the excellent Model Shop Leeds. The only trouble is that it is over 40 miles away and being on a pension, I don't get visit it too often. It's one of the penalties of living in this beautiful part of the country. I usually have to rely on the Internet for cost effective modelling.
  8. David, this forum might not be for communications but as emails don't seem to work what is the alternative. My mobile is a pay-as-you-go model as the pension do'snt seem to stretch too far so I keep it just for emergencies.
  9. I've just had an email from the 'Subs' department "Did I know that I had ordered a gift subscription for -------', yes he's my brother that's why we have the same surname. Still no sign of free gift though. I might try Quiet & Electric next time as he flies electric.
  10. I'm still waiting for 'Subscriptions' to get back to me. I bought a years sub for my brother as a Xmas gift. He received the January issue but no gift, when I complained, I received a email saying that they'd lost the records of my brothers subscription could I provide proof that I had paid. The payment was taken on 29th November, I provided proof from my bank that they had received the money sending it by 'Recorded Delivery'. At no time have I had any communication back from the Subscription Dept, they have my email address. I will think twice about giving a sub as a gift in future.
  11. When I was at RAF Gan, Addu Atoll, in the Maldives, what a hard 9 months that was, we had a formation bicycle team who whore distinctive safety head gear and were called ' The Red Helmets'.
  12. Never mind free gifts. I complained about lack of communication and now the 'Subscription Department' claim not to have received payment apart from withdrawing the amount in November. Communications are at zero, I'll think twice about subscription next year.
  13. 4-Max do some nice motor mounts according to size and how you want to mount the motor.

  15. Welcome Geoff, Anybody building bipes can't be all bad (joke).
  16. Mad, do they have a 'veggie' option? [Edited for language - BEB] Edited By Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 19/12/2013 11:40:53
  17. I've got the 3000, had a Parkside from Lidl but it didn't cut the mustard. I've got the saw attachment which works brill on plywood.
  18. Many thanks for your swift reply David. As a pensioner I have a tendency only to use emails as my pay-as-you-go mobile is reserved for emergencies only so I was getting a bit concerned about the lack of communication. Fully understand that everything is very busy at this time.
  19. David, I took out a subscription as a gift for my brother, not a renewal. I've e-mailed the subscription department but they haven't answered since accepting my payment. They seem to be ignoring any email except for someone wanting to take out a subscription.
  20. I've already contacted the magazine and enquired, in a different , topic line and was directed to this line of posts. I bought a subscription for my brother at the end of November, he's received January's magazine but not the free gift. In fact until I talked to him on Saturday didn't realise there was one. Are the free gift quadcopters going to be sent out before Christmas the subscription number is xxxxxxxxxx. I'd appreciate some kind of answer. (Edited to remove subs number for your benefit) Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 16/12/2013 17:16:34
  21. Sent off for a subscription for my brother for Christmas. He's got the January 2014 magazine but no quadcopter 'free gift' yet. Has anyone else had any problems?
