  1. I bought a G5 recently & tried it initially in an old Leo 46, I was amazed at how easily the Leo started. It ran well at WOT but the idle was not very reliable, however I will persevere. I also have an OS 120AX with a Morris Minimotors petrol conversion, which runs as well as anyone could want. I tried this with the G5, again great at WOT but the idle needs adjustment to the carb which I do not want to do. For £7.99 & some 2 stroke mix the G5 has to be worth a try. Tony
  2. The HK Phoenix is unbeatable as VFM. It soars well & can do outside loops!
  3. I built several of these in the late 70s, including a twin engined version. As an all rounder this design is great.
  4. Mine is one of those mentioned by Yoda. It has had no more than 10 flights, no crashes or hard landings just enthusiastic flying. The other was bought 14 months before mine so unlikely to be a batch issue. I am surprised no one else has suffered similarly because neither PP nor I are hard on our models. I noticed movement in the lower wing carrying the model back from the strip & on investigating was very surprised to find the locating tongue broken off. It is fixable but the potential is worrying. Thunder Tiger 75 FS power so not over stressed. Edited By Anthony Scott 2 on 02/04/2016 22:18:23
  5. My face is bright red too after several enjoyable hours slope soaring at Folkestone
  6. I have a mostly built SE5 which has been in storage for some years, it is fine except for the decals which have lost most of their adhesive. Any suggestions regarding fixing the decals onto Solartex please? Tony
  7. I have been using HK red film & noticed that the adhesive bleeds out along a joint leaving a very small white line. Tony
  8. I, too, am a survivor of a successful autorotation following engine failure, & I am by no means unique. Malcolm is probably correct in saying there have been few or even no survivors from gearbox failures but one would not expect to be able to auto rotate in that circumstance or in a tail rotor failure! Malcolm expresses a "preference" for fixed wing flying but wings do occasionally come off with equally fatal results, not everyone can do a Neil Williams!!
  9. I had a similar problem recently, a large tear in the wing of a 40 size low winger inline withe exhaust outlet,& used clear parcel tape from Poundland with complete success - so far!
