Pics from your free RCME plan build
Andy Hall replied to Ton van Munsteren's topic in RCM&E Plan Builders
Weekend Wren (April 2019) before..... And after...... -
Looking good, Charlie. You have a plane..... I have parts of a plane - I'm going much slower. I think that once I've created a servo tray in each lower wing (servos on their way to me), I'll switch to making the fuselage. The bit I'm not looking forward to is the nose. I've already decided to eliminate the protruding engine. Have you created it from balsa rather than glass fibre ? What have you covered the tailplane with ? Edited By Andy Hall on 03/01/2021 21:56:28

I like making laminated parts. Especially when they turn out OK (except for one small crease). Now back to the wing, to add the aileron cross members, 1/16" sheeting to R1 & R2 and sand/plane to the finish profile.... then make three more ! One thing I have noticed. At the moment the wing seems to flex a bit.

Progress is slow..... but moving forwards. I am finding that there are questions rather than directions on the plan but it keeps me thinking....... Anyway, with the stabiliser built and rudder and wing under way, I'm starting to wonder about what I should use as a covering material. I've only used Solarfilm before. The plane in the article used Sig Koverall and I have no experience using that. I'm happy to follow suit but thoughts anyone......

It didn't occur to me for some reason : Biplane = 4 wing sections = lots of ribs ! First batch of 12 came out OK though At least the central section sanded down nicely though.

Well I've started. It's going to take a while but we'll see what comes out.......

I think that criticism of grammar is one of the standard stages of debate (?!) on most social media sites or forums. It usually precedes a torrent of expletives and finally a flurry of posts which sound similar to a Presidential debate. I think, like language in general, grammar continuously evolves. If it didn't, we would all be talking and writing 16th century Shakespearean English with its peculiar words and slightly different sentence structure. With that in mind, does that mean everybody's grammar is wrong nowadays ? I do think however, that we have become sloppy, particularly with online content. Frequently there are words used in the wrong context, a lack of punctuation and incorrect use of words such as "their" and "there". No doubt I have just typed some examples of each (?) and will now be subjected to the remaining standard stages of posting.. Oh and one final point : emojis are more powerful than language and defuse everything.
