I searched for "servos" and found the topic Paul mentions just prior to me doing a BIN on fleabay for the same servos, lucky me even more so when Ken Andersons link points to the pukka items being sold for £28 x 4 this is plus postage but still a great deal in the long run. I agree with others dont waste time being diplomatic just inform PP and the'll pull the finaces back in total, ebay are a waste of space and only care about there returns. Stephen Ps heres KA,s link Pukka Servos Are Us
  3. Hi All During my Precedent T240 refurb its evident the 4 wing servos need replacing as there as twichy as an epileptic break dancer, question is which ones to choose for the job ive selected two options but being a novice i need advice on wether to fit the Futaba S3003 direct drive or the Futaba S148 indirect drive servos and wondered which would be better and why. Any assistance appreciated Stephen
  4. Thanks Steve Ive seen the commercial offerings and agree it is affordable, but having all the components at hand is just to tempting and you cant put a price on the satisfaction of a homebrew setup as well as the option to modify and customize the output. Range and reliability is obviously an issue, the claimed line of sight distance for my tx/rx is circa 100m, but some of the nordic chipsets can increase that three fold so i'll build with my 433,s socketed with the option to upgrade if (when) nessasary, Stephen
  5. In the market for four servos and came across these on FleaBay although i would,nt risk these on the model size there intended for ,but instead followed Ken Andersons link to the servo shop but heres the thing are these fake or not as these have eyeleted full mounting holes but white main shafts ?. To be or not to be Stephen Edited By Essef on 10/04/2012 07:54:10 Edited By Essef on 10/04/2012 07:56:03
  6. Well done young fella ,ive yet to expeiriance the thrill with the same plane Stephen
  7. After coming across some 433mhz tx/rx from a previous remote heating project i fancied having a look at a homebrew telem setup and wondered had any one had a go and if so could offer some assistance or shortcuts, below is a rough outline for the beta system requirements. Avr based mcu with lcd visual and audible warnings Gps for lat-long-recovery. Accelorometer for speed-direction. Sensors for engine temp-external temp-rpm-fuel-wind speed altitude etc etc. Range ?. Any info assistance appreciated.   Stephen       Edited By Essef on 08/04/2012 12:01:50
  8. Between pots of tea n toast Ive modded A JR2610 with the 2.4ghz frsky internal mod, and waiting for the receiver battery to charge/test. Also just checked my android weather app only to find its cloud and rain until next saturday but i;ll lay good odds it'll crack the flags when school reopens on the 16th grrrrrrrr and more grrrrrrrr. 9. Posted by leccyflyer on 08/04/2012 09:55:31: Happy Easter Wayne, that is indeed a great idea.   However NZ probably does not suffer from vandalism in quite the same manner as the UK. Such a system would be a welcome addition to any club site but the sad reality is that, at many locations, the busbars would be prised off the side of the club hut and sold for scrap, the solar panels would be smashed beyond repair and the door to the club hut -which now clearly contains something worth pinching - broken down. Likely to happen within acouple of months. Sad but true. Leccy You omitted the bit where they set fire to the shed, presumably because they have'nt got one themselves. Heres a better idea, lets wire the shed to the nearby main grid pylon !!! ----- i'll leave the outcome and benefits of this excellent solution to individual  imagination.   Stephen Edited By Essef on 08/04/2012 10:29:42

  11. My apologies BeB ,ill read that tut later thanks. Thanks for the info Martin i'll ensure all hinges are pinned, i have an air stapler with "brads" would this suffice do you think ? ,perhaps a test on scrap prior to destroying the wings is in order !. Stephen
  12. Heres the hinges i purchased And i used cyno with a wicking hole as suggested, thanks for all your advise it does make the job easier and boosts nooby confidence when coming from seasoned modellers. Stephen Edited By Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 14/03/2012 12:28:42
