Well , not so different, slightly more 'cramped' in appearance. I did like the feature where you could pass the cursor over a topic and read the first sentence or two. Would welcome slightly larger font, or a new pair of glasses.... keep up the good work!!!

i had some left over shelving, the type where you screw two metal bars vertically to the wall and there are numerous slots for the brackets to fit in . I just bought more brackets and slotted these in every 4 inches antd thats it! a great wing rack.

So in a nutshell, strong, easily sanded and gives time to reposition and no real cons? Thanks for all the advice ... and the interesting asides on animal glue, I seem to recall using cascamite, a paste glue mixed with water whilst in woodworking class at school many years ago, is it stil around and ony use or is it simply superceded by modern glues?

Could some kind soul explain to me the pros and cons of using aphylactic ( spelling??) adhesive. Im just starting a new traditionally build biplane kit, balsa, and have heard several recommendations for this but have yet to hear the fors and againsts. Or any other recommendations, Ive generally used thin cyano and /or epoxy to date. Thanks in anticipation Spanner

Straightening a tailplane

But be VERY careful with the heat gun, otherwise youll melt the covering. However re-covering the model makes it highly individual and puts you well up on the learning curve! Good Luck -

Or, you could just sheet in the open framed area, 1/16 balsa or similar. -
Covering Wot4 Classic wing
spanner replied to KeithT's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
I glassed the wing on my wot4, I wondered the same as you, in the end I decided to laminate several thicknesses if 1/4 balsa and carve two wing tips. I gave mine a very rounded and streamline profile, I then drilled into the mating face to reduce weight. Not sure the drilling was really needed as they were quite light anyway. I then epoxied the tips to the wing, sanded to profile and went ahead and glassed it all. It worked really well. Having said that I would note Timbo's comment above, Im not sure that there is much to be gained by glassing. I intended to make a high quality painted wing that was bullet proof!! I ended up with the fuel attacking the painted finish and so after some time sanded down the paint and covered in profilm. Good quality shed time though!! Good luck with the build, its a great plane, Im thinking of getting another, they sound great with a four stroke! (anything sounds great with a four stroke!!) Or go electric???
