  1. Hi all: I am a traditional aeromodeller who like to build from plan. I like to share my latest project which is an enlarged Quaker Flash Specification as follow: Wingspan : 52" (1.5 X enlargement) Plan: Outerzone oz1584 Modification: Electric Powered, Laminated wing tip, Laminated Fin and Rudder LE and TE Motor: 2826 1200kv Propeller : 10 x 6 Battery: 1500mAh, 3S Flight Time : Easily 10 minutes For those who are keen, I can post construction photographs Thank you
  2. Manage to complete and carried out maiden flight on my birthday. Other than some up trim, it flew beautifully. Thank you Ton Von Munteren for sharing your design! My next project Mustang P-51B.
  3. I don't own a watt meter, I guess it is time for me to purchase one!
  4. Wow, 10 to 12mm movement is a lot especially on small motor!
  5. Thanks, I always check before every charge cycle, in fact the build in voice recording always remind us to the check the type of battery being charged
  6. Dear all: Thank you all gentlemen for your feedback, The reply to all the above comments and advice are as follows: 1) I live in SIngapore which is a tropical country, the average temperature ranges from 24 to 32 degree C, so there should be no problem with cold batteries. In fact, I am more concern with batteries heating up in the car interior. 2) I have used both new and old batteries and it these batteries are always fully charged via balance charge cycle just before flying 3) The older batteries has about 75 charge cycle, while the newest one has less than 35 charge cycle. 3) Batteries condition are closely monitored, I record all parameter of individual batteries and cells before and after each flight. So far the capacity of individual batteries has never fell below 11.3V (3S 3,200maH) after each flight. 4) Transmitter (Futaba 10J) has never been handled by another party. I guess the best and only way to find out whether if is battery or motor fault is to purchase one new battery and one piece brushless motor and try it out on one of the plane!
  7. Hi all: I have been experiencing gradual power loss in couple of my electric powered planes. I used to able to fly half throttle throughout the entire flight using only full throttle for aerobatic. Lately, I found that I need to fly at almost full throttle just to ensure that my plane does not stall during flight, this happened even when I am using new fully charged batteries. Brushless motors are Turngiy and Racer and has about 70 flights on these planes. Can anyone advise me the cause of my problem. Thank you in advance.
  8. Hi Ton: HAPPY NEW YEAR! I should thanks you for making an effort to design and publish many of your designs for us to build and enjoy! Chica was completed, maiden and crashed couple of times before this video was taken on New Year eve by my good flying buddy. I have already started my RED EAGLE build. Although I was hoping I can finish it by now to, however work tend to get in the way especially during holiday session. Still I am very happy with my progress. Enclosed are some of the construction photos for your kind comment. Looking forward to build your next design (Sonny 1500 or Mustang P51B)
  9. Hi all: I have completed the basic airframe and now need to fabricate the rotor blades which I have completely no experience. Advise or direction to suitable article or YouTube clip for the following questions will be deeply appreciated 1) How to balance Autogyro blade? 2) How to determine or locate the individual blade mounting hole? 3) For set up, what is the angle of the blade mounting plate in relation with the head mast? 4) Is there a need to carry out CG adjustment / check. If yes, there is the CG point? Thanks
  10. Hi All: More novice question I have already completed the bare airframe and reach a point where I need to mount the various servos. My question are as follows:- 1) I am using wing type servos for pitch and roll control. is there any special requirement like alignment to the head? 2) What is the push rod thread size of the C30 head? 3) Does a normal push rod usually use in fixed wing aircraft suitable for Autogyro, If not, can anyone recommend? Thank you all in advance!
  11. Hi Gyroo Builder: Fin and rudder material thickness is only 3mm, would like to know what type of hinges you guys are using?
  12. Today, I went to all my local hobby and craft shops in my Country. (Singapore is a very small city state) to source Spruce strips for my build. Unfortunately, my search was unsuccessful. I only manage to purchase limited size and quantity of pine strips. I am now force to use 1/4" x 3/8" for rotor leading edge. Laminate 2 pieces of 1/8" thick x 1/2" wide strip to produce one piece 1/4" x 1/2" strip for the boom. Finally, due to diligence search, I managed to find one piece 1/4" x 1/2" strip for the mast! My question is, can I use Pine strip instead of Spruce? Is there any other materials that I can use instead of these two materials.\?
