    I warm it with a heat gun. It makes it flow well and helps kick off the setting process.
  2. Rocker I have a Saito 125 and it has run happily on an OS 4 stroke plug for years.
  3. Hi Timothy I tapped my OS 81 Alpha in the middle of the back plate for the sole purpose of injecting after run oil.
  4. Hope that doesn't happen in Oz. We can buy 4 litres of Acetone at the local hardware store for $40 AUD! We can still purchase bulk Methanol and Nitromethane as well.
  5. Not sure what brand of carby is fitted but the symptoms suggest that the metering diaphragm has hardened. If it is a Walbro style of carby the diaphragm is easy to replace as it is under the metal cover that is held on by 4 Philip head screws.

    I have used the U bend approach on one of my four strokes and found it simple and effective.
  7. Here in Oz the Summer temperatures in my garage get to 45 degrees C. Some years ago I converted a small fridge to run at 16 degrees C and I keep my LiPo's in that. I figure they are happier (if indeed a LiPo can express such an emotion) in that environment and if there should be a fire I hope the metal fridge will assist in containing it.
  8. Hi Douglas the plastic face is held around the edge with double sided tape. It is pretty straightforward to get out. Some warmth (not to hot) from a hair dryer will assist. The suggestion to use a screen protector is also worth considering as it does disguise scratches to some extent. David
  9. Hi Douglas I assume you mean the display module not the clear plastic screen on the front of the Tx. The module is pretty straightforward to get in and out. I suggest that you number the multiconnectors to ensure you plug them back in the correct socket. Taking some photos at various stages of the disassembly process is also helpful when it comes time to put it all back together.
  10. One way to make a reasonable estimation of the oil content is to evaporate the volatile components from a measured quantity of fuel and see how much oil is left.
  11. I have a LiFe pack in my JR Tx and I agree with Steve it just goes and goes and I end up charging it just to be sure. Mine is a Hobbyking pack and is 1800mAH. I wouldn't be too concerned about the voltage falling off the cliff as in my experience NiMh and NiCad packs are much worse. David
  12. That's what I do Ben. Once they are discharged I carefully put a slit in the covering before putting them in a bucket of salty water. David
  13. I keep mine in a converted fridge that keeps them at 16 degrees Celsius. This provides them some protection from the Summer heat in my shed (45+ degrees C in Adelaide) and also I hope would contain any fire that might occur. Having said that I think the greatest risk with LiPo's is when they are being charged or if they are damaged in a crash.

  15. I find straight Nitro Methane the best. Just wear gloves and don't use it in a confined space. I guess that goes for Acetone as well.
