  1. Sympathy accepted Erfolg, I think we need even more of it now. Wild out, with hail in the proper West Highland rain. The Cairgorm mfc got my appologyby E-mail,, AGM tonight, word back,, likely to be snow there. I do believe I might have to resurect the old computer and play the old model flight sim. Just till the weather freezes up----- frozen = dry
  2. The hills they have white heads. The thermometer is reading lower. The wind and wet is back again, they did not stay away for long. The resolution for 1st January,,, the same as last year, get herself to pick the right numbers so we CAN go where I can get flying.
  3. Well, they ARE rather good. Much like the multi-million pound paint daubings.
  4. Problem is a number of the Guilty and aquited then condem and kill even more than were hanged when innocent in the last fifty years of the 1900s.
  5. Write one hundred lines,   I MUST improve the eighty yard X six yard plot by leveling and fitting an electric fence around it.
  6. Have a look for "Floatflymodels.co.uk" while there remember to get some waterproofing for your ESC/speed controller. Even keeps them working underwater.
  7. Took two models out today, the Blackhorse 3d, more pattern than 3d plus the little Ben Buckle "novice". The Blackhorse 3d stayed in the car as I had much fun learning more about the Paw diesel and what I could do with the "novice". The weather forecast had it correct
  8. P'raps the forecasters will have it correct and me being an optimistic pessimist I have radio batteries charging for Sunday.
  9. I think I should put that 6/11 photo in a frame where I cannot avoid seeing it. I do need to lose weight   Quite strange, I seem to know a couple of them, and me from near Ben Nevis too.
  10. Went through from Fort William to Elgin. Bright blue sky Saturday and Sunday, from calm to a bit wind and not too much of it. Can hardly believe the thashing through the air I gave my PANIC at the Dallachy club. Just as it was getting dark on the way back there was ice on the small off road wet bits. More of this weather, pretty please.
  11. Any of the above, plus, do a search for "Little Hotties". I got a box full at a very reasonable price, delivered. Six to eight hours heat, and easily fit into gloves, either the palm or the back of the hand.
  12. Time the header was changed,,,like the clocks. Since it was started it has not worked well for me, the getting better bit. It is still pea down weather or is that stretching forum rules   Just back from Balbedie MFC's Hallowe'en Flyin, the runway spot on, the rest very soft 'n mucky. Civillised rain, only at night, bit draughty at right angle to the strip made for interesting take of and landing antics. For them as do not know the site the runway slopes away from the pilots box at right angle to the line of flight, and with the wind from behind over the hill,,,,interesting. especially at 25-35 mph.   A great weekend guys, Ta.
  13. I really hope that the Balbedie Club has good weather for the Halloween Fly-in this weekend. I have nowt new to fly, but hey who needs new We, being herself and me, will enjoy all the crac, cans and drams, and fireworks on Saturday. Update on the weekend will arrive next week.   Panic, Blackhorse Bravo, Flair Passion, and a lot of,,, Ben Buckle "Novice". The last diesel power of course.
  14. Sunday and Monday just past, I really would have liked to have had a quarter of the summer just just like them. T-shirt warm, nearly flat calm, and DRY. Tuesday had forecasts in the mid teens of MPH wind with gusts of thirty plus.   Well the single gust was stronger and lasted for twelve hours. Just a little of the wet stuff. Now that is VERY unusual.   All the best to the folk who got the Fort William type rain.
  15. I noticed that on page 9 that the mass build 2012 has a cut off date, 1965. For those not in the know, that means models prior to 1965 or does it   Just reached page 19, so far so good. I was sorry to miss the scale comp area and sorry Mick Henderson was out of the prise line-up. However, a prize (only verbal) to A Whittaker for a nice article.
  16. Here in the NORTHWEST, we experienced the first calm, warmish day for many weeks. It did not even start raining till 2:30pm. The view of Ben Nevis was really nice, Back to the workshop, nope, not for repairs, still trying to get an engine in a cowl to stay cool enough to keep working.
  17. By pure chance I looked at "The Gadget Show". One of our famous personalities made an appearance as Turbine Mechanic. Quite interesting new use for Turbines, well worth a look.
  18. Denny, you can relax, he's back.   There I stood quite delighted. we got our picture took. The venue? RCM&E Marquee on Sunday of the "Nats". Couldn't be better,,,Oh yes it could, David our host, put it on full view in a thread here, somewhere.   I have a sneaking feeling the ex bog trotter was very nervous being at the Nationals, all those goodies could have left his moths starving. I know I had to let mine go, I could no longer afford to feed them.   Quite a tale he has of the tribulations of house rebuilding, which I hope they are getting near to the end of.   You did not miss much, further North Martyn, as we have had barely worthwhile flying weather.
  19. I can't think of any modern full size aircraft using a castor base lubricant or even as an additive. I can't think of any modern motor cars which do either, and that includes Formula One race cars.   One well known engine guru from OZ land does not advocate caster, plus I have had less trouble since going to all synthetic oil fuel for both 2st and 4st engines.   I wish I had asked the PYLON race guys at the "English" Nationals what they were using as I certainly did not smell castor when I was close to them.   Anyway, if you are happy to use and believe castor is good, then be happy.
  20. Not a bad issue at all is this "Special issue".
  21. Crossing me fingers might just be about to pay off The "Met office" as well as "7day weather" are both now giving DRY, LIGHT WIND, NO RAIN, during the days Saturday and Sunday at Paisley. Which for you who are geographically challenged is near to KIlbirnie Loch, the site of this weekends Splash-in.
  22. Today turned out to be the warm, pretty sunny day. Finally got the caravan cleaned top and sides. No chance of flying, Can't really rely on the forecast now can we? So, better the fingers crossed method for the weekend.   I hope you Southren punters are doing better.
  23. I have flown on half a dozen (good round number   of sites with similar pilots stances. No problems.
