The rotary multi tool I bought packed up due to excessive vibration DUE TO A BENT MANDREL at full revs and me being slow to switch off or slow down. I contacted Aldi's service dept and spoke to a lovely lass who arranged a replacement to be sent and told me to dispose of the one I have as I wished. I feel a project coming on. Might only be a fractured soldered joint or a u/s speed controller.. Wish me luck. P.S. any suggestions welcome.

You don't do another crutch and formers for the other side ( although you could have done with half the thickness wood ) and join it to the first side. I suppose if you didn't mind a fractionally wider fuse you could do it that way if you wanted to. The idea was to build it "a la main" in the hand hence a banana if side one isn't rigid enough. Do as you suggest and add some planking and you should be fine. I prefer horizontal crutches but I'm quite happy with vertical ones having built KK scale Hurricanes and Spits since I was 9 yrs old. Forget the carbon paper and go for it . Just ensure the half formers are true to the original side. Easy with the magnetic board and blocks then when dry add the stringers to that side and start planking. Enjoy and have patience.

Opn it up and clean the contacts and replace the spring if you can and clean any crud off the edges of the buttons and holes then lubricate with a small smear of oil around th edges.

"Anything will fly given enough power" Is my signature on the other forum. Given a reflex section these plates will fly Hands Off/F/F

The more dihedral a plane has the harder it is to bunt, Dihedral is intended to keep a plane upright hence flicking out of the outside loop. Reduce or eliminate the dihedral and the job is much easier.

Very well done "II" as I used to call a beautiful Iris I once knew. (pronounced eye -eye ). Have you two tied the knot yet? If not why not? If yes I apologise for asking I only ask having just lost my wife and was glad to have been married to her for 44 yrs. A lovely lady as I'm sure you are too.. Love to you both. Mods - sorry if this is inappropriate here -
No fuel in Less tight with plug out but still pretty tight Plug in a few threads but not screwed down so not fouling piston tight again. Not in plane not run for some time. Could be ring of dry Castor I suppose Or maybe carbon.

I have an OS40. in really good condition. In fact too good I know glows are a bit tight over TDC but this one is so tight I can't flick it over and even loosens the prop unless really torqued up Anything I can do to ease it? Edited By onetenor on 17/10/2018 02:57:26

Thanks ALL. Much appreciated. A pity Matilda wasn't born before Marg went. It might just have rallied her. She loved children. She raised 5 of them. 3 boys from my first marriage and two of her own. Just one happy family. 14 Grandchildren and now 4 G Grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by us all.. Thanks again to everyone who sent condolences etc

Who's still got a Mick Reeves Focke-Wulf 190D-9?

Graeme those fairings can be a pain but I used them in the past this way First of all I applied a contact type glue to both surfaces with a brush. and let it tack off. Almost dry to the touch. Then I warmed the plastic (hairdryer ) to soften it slightly. I then wet the surfaces with a very weak solution of washing up/ window cleaning fluid. This allowed me just enough time to slide the fairing into place.. As I did so I pressed it down pushing the solution out allowing the glued surfaces to adhere as designed. If it is a foam model POR type glues can be used in the same way. If a removable wing is being used be careful to glue the fuselage meeting surfaces only. Be warned. The glue holds it all into place so no need to hold it usually. If a bit isn't holding warm it a bit and press in place. If still not holding slip a LITTLE adhesive in with an almost dry brush. Wait a little time and press and hold for a couple of mins. Job jobbed John Mantova ------ NW fairing dept No 1 -

I fly small to medium sized planes and like 2 sts both glow and diesels. Mainly old ones. Reason? I get longer flights on I/Cs and can't be bothered with the attendant faff recharging batteries. Re glow fuel I make my own and diesel too if I can get ether. Much cheaper then bought fuels. Re MDS and Magnum motors. I have both and find that a change of carbs with the equivalent OS and Irvine Carbs. OS for the Magnum and Irvine for the MDS. Works wonders. On top of this my pension does not allow much spare cash.so NEW engines are out My biggest engines are 10 ccs. I feel there are others like me who if I/Cs and fuel stop being available one way or another then we will be forced to drop the hobby. Are American engines cheap? That may be an answer if they are.
