  1. Impressed myself with 48. I got the 1st one wrong. It is interesting that certain traits/styles go through a manufacturers types, ie the fin/rudder shape with DH.
  2. Hi Piers, Glad you had a good flight and thanks for the velcro tip, will try it. Cheers Bob Edited By Bob Bertram on 07/02/2017 20:59:45
  3. Maidened mine today. A superb floater and certainly doesn't need the AS3X. Spoilers seem to work well and shortens/slows the landing. Climb is not as good as my Phoenix 2000 but then for that I bought the version with no electrics and with the motor I use it climbs like a scalded cat. I only have 2200 Mah batteries at the moment, (plus a lump of 63g lead to get the 91mm CoG), so will have to buy some 3200 3 cells. Can't wait for some decent thermic weather. All in all, a lot of plane for the money.
  4. I should be up for a visit to Greenacres.   Edited By Bob Bertram on 16/01/2017 08:44:10
  5. Next Monday or Tuesday I should think, the digital version is up and running. Cheers, Bob.
  6. Another vote for Pegasus. They are my LHS, (24 miles away), but following quite a major op last week, I can't drive for a while. Spoke to Craig after lunch yesterday on the 'phone and the item arrived this morning at 10 am by postie. Not only that but they do a price match, (like John Lewis!), and I got it nearly 20 quid cheaper. Full marks to them men.
  7. Yep, agree with you Ted. Got my servo back from Horizon Hobby this morning and all running nice and smooth. Full marks to HH for service. Been bit busy today so will sort it out tomorrow and get it ready for the maiden which will happen once the weather improves and the improvement in my medical bits all coincide!! Perhaps we should organise an XL meet somewhere in central England later this year. Seem to be a few people who have one of these.
  8. I received mine just before New Year from SMC, bought the pnp version. It has the green stickers, I'm not sure if the v1 was imported into the UK. Unfortunately one servo was a bit juddery so it has gone to Horizon under warranty and am waiting (hopefully), for a new one. There is also a slight twist in the rear fuselage but not as bad as one I have seen on the RCgroups forum. Will attack it with a hair dryer in a day or two. Probably will not be able to maiden it for 3 or 4 weeks as I have just had quite a major operation and have to take it easy for a bit.   Edited By Bob Bertram on 10/01/2017 17:27:46
  9. I have a PNP version winging its way to me. Anyone thinking about one should get in quickly as new stock are costing quite a bit. Sussex Model Centre have old stock at £115.99, the new RRP is just short of £160!! Although some are selling at £140 ish
  10. Posted by cymaz on 21/12/2016 18:15:14: The Irish version of the BMFA - MACI has been registering models for a while. The flying in Eire hasn't nose dived yet! ( sorry ) If I join MACI does that mean my models wont nose dive???!!!

I go to France quite a lot and this will affect me. I normally use any field around the village that doesn't have crops in so I guess that I am stuffed! Ah! Just checked and both the models I leave over there are under 800gms. Saved?

  13. Not sure if this is the same company but I ordered something over the phone yesterday and it arrived this morning, less than 24 hours later. They seem to stock a lot of HK stuff and not all is on their website including some spares that HK have discontinued, (which is what I was after). The nice lady wasn't sure if she had what I wanted and said she would phone back in 2 minutes which amazingly she did! Superb service. http://www.rapidrcmodels.com/
  14. That is indeed a Proctor V and in the old W&W book it gives the reg OO-ARM. They also have/had a IV somewhere. There is a photo on the net of 'RM being delivered to the store. Edited By Bob Bertram on 07/12/2016 17:19:19
  15. Hi Barrie, there is another Radian XL thread on this forum, type the name in the search box.
  16. Just had a look in an old European Wrecks and Relics book. It would appear to be a store for the Belgian Army Museum. No wonder the photographer was worried by the security guards, they were probably armed!
  17. Thanks for the responses guys, I am slowly ploughing through the RCgroups thread but only at page 20 so far.
  18. Has anyone flown the XL without the AS3X stabilizer??
  19. Robbie, your site is showing database error!
  20. Hi Pete, how are you progressing with it? Was thinking of putting it on my Xmas pressie list.
  21. I can't seem to paste on this little machine but use the search box and type : wood'nt you like to know. Ah! Peter beat me to it Edited By Bob Bertram on 02/11/2016 08:20:39
  22. Sadly, one of the greatest aviators ever has past away. I would have liked to have seen his engine out display in the Shrike Commander in real life, still there are plenty of videos on the 'tube. Edited By Bob Bertram on 26/10/2016 18:51:41
