  1. Very best wishes David - I hope your recovery goes well and you're firing on all cylinders again soon. Steve.
  2. Posted by Stuart Marsden on 19/04/2017 21:22:53: Hi thanks for this, I will look over your website and see if I need anything else at the same time. Best regards Stuart Hi Stuart, You're welcome - and don't just rely on our website for parts either as we also have vac-forms which (for a variety of reasons) aren't shown. Consequently, it's always worth sending an email enquiry as we might still have a retired plug or near alternative to suit your application. Also, many of Nigel's sport designs have black canopies as standard, but can be supplied in clear (with pilots) if you wish - therefore, just ask whenever you're thinking of placing an order. 3. Posted by Stuart Marsden on 17/04/2017 18:36:07: Just looked through an old 2006 or 7 RCME at Nigel Hawes Whizza. I have tried the telephone Vortex 01162 207080 for a conopy. Does anyone know if Vortex has gone and has anyone a canopy for this free plan? I have had a few years out but have been back for year or so, but like the look of this one. Has anyone built one? Cheers SM Hi Stuart, I can confirm that we certainly have not gone, but are no longer at the location we were 10 years ago. Whilst the address and phone number are different (and provided below), our email address remains the same. I don't recall seeing a message, did you send one or only try the phone number? As for the canopy for Nigel's Whizzza, we still produce the part in question and will be more than happy to supply you with one for your model. Many thanks to everyone who helped Stuart with his query and relayed our current contact details. Kind regards, Steve Davis - Vortex Vacforms Vortex Vacforms 40, Thorndale, Ibstock, Leicestershire. 4. Posted by Wasaforumite on 22/11/2016 17:08:57: Hi My winter's build will be a Super Kaos for electric power. I'll post some pictures if anyone's interested. I've already got some foam wings from Elation Models (thanks Steve - they are super). However, I don't want to spend hours making a bubble canopy. does anyone have a source of these? When i was building my Tweedy Bird i just couldn't find one that was likely to fit. Thanks Hi Wfm, Good luck with your build and your workshop - You're always welcome to call with your requirements as we have some unidentified canopies (and cowls, etc) that aren't listed on either the website or our Facebook page. 6. Sad news - Condolences to Dave's family and friends.
  7. Posted by Peter Miller on 23/01/2017 18:18:20: Thanks KC. I have had a really vicious cold but the problem is that a bad virus will trigger my old ME (CFS) so it takes a while to get any energy back Sorry to hear your under the weather Peter. Hope you manage to shake the cold before it triggers the ME. Steve

  9. For reference, we can still supply the canopy and cowl that Peter specified for his version of Rod Jocelyn's Culver Dart, should anyone be interested in a new build or to repair an existing model. However, as we have relocated since the plan first appeared in RCM&E, our current contact details are provided below. 12. Certainly a fine looking model Mike Bell, and congratulations on having the plan for your Hangar Monkey published in the October 2016 edition of RCM&E Also, I'd like to thank you for giving Vortex Vacforms a name-check in the accompanying article for the benefit of anyone wishing to fit a commercially available canopy as an alternative to trying to form one for themselves. 13. I believe there are only two questions you need to ask yourself: 1) What would the other half do if she were looking at shoes? 2) Where can I hide it? Easy! 14. You might like to try Slec themselves. I believe they still produce the T-240, so it can't hurt to ask whether they still have the literature you require for your T-180. 15. Having been the subject of similar speculation, perhaps a call to Flair Models themselves would be appropriate. Their number is 01926 499099 Kind regards, Steve - Vortex Vacforms

Also, contrary to a couple of rumours which made there way back to me over the last few weeks, I can confirm that Vortex Vacforms has not been bought, sold, changed hands and/or being run by anyone else - We've just moved house (and Vortex Vacforms) from our previous address in Birstall to our new address in Ibstock, Leicestershire - that's all, honest! 19. Dear Modelflying Lads & Lasses, It is with great relief that I can announce that we have completed our house move across Leicestershire, and that Vortex Vacforms is again able to assist modellers requiring vacformed spares or accessories to finish/ repair/ restore their R/C Model Aircraft. Also, contrary to a couple of rumours which made there way back to me over the last few weeks, I can confirm that Vortex has not been bought, sold, changed hands and/or being run by anyone else - We've just moved house (and Vortex Vacforms) from our previous address in Birstall to our new address in Ibstock, Leicestershire - honest! Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if modelflying site-users could share our new details among their club-mates, as it would be a shame if a customer were to lose their plug due to it going to the wrong address and then getting lost or damaged. Wishing everyone a model-flying August! Kind regards, Steve Davis   Edited By Vortex Vacforms on 05/08/2016 17:30:26
  20. Posted by Andy Meade on 30/06/2016 12:26:11: aha - wondered why my email fell into a black hole! Hope all goes well with the connection Edited By Andy Meade on 30/06/2016 13:13:04 Thanks Andy - I don't think we realise just how reliant we are on modern tech until we don't have it. In case anyone is wondering, I've placed these last couple of posts via a friend's device. Hopefully, the broadband issue will be resolved tomorrow and we can at least begin replying to emails. Kind regards, Steve Davis - Vortex Vacforms [email protected]
  21. Dear Modelflying Lads & Lasses, I would like to inform anyone/everyone who may be (or has been) trying to contact us recently, that we are currently without telecoms & broadband due to a Monumental FUBAR by the Virgin Media engineers who failed to turn up on 17th June as arranged. We have since been assured that connection will take place on 1st July, after which we can attend to any outstanding and/or unanswered enquiries. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, and would especially like to thank David from RCM&E for checking to see how we were getting on after our move across Leicestershire. Kind regards, Steve Davis - Vortex Vacforms [email protected]
  22. Posted by Peter Miller on 04/06/2016 08:34:20: Good luck Steve. I haven't moved in 54 years but I can sympathise. Hi Peter, thank you for the good luck message matey.   If you haven't moved in 54 years, can I ask how you managed to get a mortgage when you were obviously still at school?! lol   Steve Davis - Vortex Vacforms   [email protected] Edited By Vortex Vacforms on 05/06/2016 01:50:45
