  1. I think I will be Vettel MK11 and retire at the end of the season.😕😕 John
  2. Another week of predictions dowmn the pan. Lookout at the bottom I'm on my way.🤕😞 John
  3. Well don Iqon, Chris and Tony. Got pole right and winner right everything else went downhill fast. John
  4. Thanks I will look into that. Any comments on the CG? John
  5. Another great loss to the aeromodelling world. I learned yesterday that the wife of a fellow modeller had died on Monday and then this morning one of the best bosses a worker could have passed a way today so feeling a bit down now RIP Alex
  6. I am relatively new to gliding having been flying a Radian motor glider for a few years. It virtually flies itself. I have now "upgraded" to an FMS FOX V2. It is taking a bit of sorting but slowly getting there. I have a query with the COG as per the instruction sheet. Each wing panel is 1235 mm long, 235mm at the root and 95mm at the tip. The leading edge is straight so the taper is all on the trailing edge. The suggested balance point is 40 mm behind the leading edge at the root which to me looks too far forward. Anty suggestions please as to whether the cog is correct. John
  7. Well done Iqon, Pete and Chris. After a good start to the season (for me) using my "judgement", for the last three races I have listened to to so called experts in the papers and on line with my predictions, and started the slide downwards so next time out I'm back to my unscientific predictions and hopefully claw my way back up a few places. John
  8. And welcome back from West Sussex. John
  9. Thanks Denis. I'll have a second look over the weekend, going to Wings and Weald tomorrow. Alan, That is what I have a board approx 50* 20 mm with the adjacent switch on it as well then a feed to a slider on the side of the Tx. Probably as Denis says not too difficult but I have not done one before. John
  10. thanks for the replies I will get in touch with Mike. john
  11. Kim, Off subject of PC but I have severe hearing loss in one ear and no hearing in the other but I only paid a four figure number £2000 privately. Boots were a bit more expensive but their aids start at £350 depending on amount of hearing loss. For your estimate I would expect to have full remote control and adjustment via an app on your mobile phone and a pair of aids. My Phonak aid has manual volume adjust, a three position switch for normal, noisy and telecoil for using hearing aid compatible phones. Not sure where on the south coast you are but I am in Horsham West Sussex. Now back to original topic. John
  12. I have managed to break a switch om my Hitec Flash 8 Tx. I have got a new switch, but when I took the back cover off instead of a lead the switch is soldered to a board along with the adjacent switch and a slider switch. Not confident about replacing it so need to send to an agent. Can anyone tell me who the service agent is for Hitec please. John
  13. KC. Lastyear there was no market so no holdups. Parking was where the market was. Seemed a long walk to the entrance but if you had to park in the overflow paking in previous years no different. John
  14. Martin, That was suggested from the outset, but reluctance on the two parts. John
  15. KC we have advised it might not be in anyones interest to get the law involved for exactly that reason. It has quietened down at the moment so I can't update. Our landlord is very good and we don't want to upset him. Been on site for too many years. John
  16. Thanks for all your comments. I would add that we park along a hedgerow and all models are unloaded and placed on the flying side of the access route, about 20 feet from the cars so in theory the model should not have been where it was. At the time there were no vehicles apparently to the right of the model owners car and so the car owner pulled into the next space and didn't see the model. I've not hear.d any updates today as I have not been around. I don't think that it will go to extent of removal from the club, but it is a first for us in 50+ years . John
  17. Bruce. The chairman has tried to get them to sort it out. Thanks for the offer but we are at the other end of the country. John
  18. They have been in contact with the BMFA who advice going to car insurer. Not sure if the car insurer has been contacted yet. BMFA member to member insurance seem more for personal injury from what I have heard. Both unfortunately have prickly natures so may drag on for some time. John
  19. This seems to be the best topic to use. If not could the mods please move to the most appropriate topic. We have recently had an expensive model damaged on our site. I have to state now I wasn't present and have only seen photos of the incident and heard second hand versions of both sides. The owner of the model placed his wings on the ground near, not by his car and another member drove into the parking area and apparently didn't see them and drove over them while parking.. Neither is accepting responsibility and things have become quite heated with lawyers and police being threatened. How would other clubs deal with this as we don't feel it anything to do with the club directly, but obviously we need to be peacemakers. Parking and unloading have not caused any problems in the very many years we have been onsite. I have always assumed that in incidents like this an offer to repair/replace is usually made but this incident may involve a fair amount of money. John
  20. One plus factor for our club was that we had a guest flier who is not in any club, and liked our facilities so much he applied to join our club. This takes us up to full membership (limit 100 adults) which is not bad after the Covid losses. John
  21. Cuban8. My club committee's first reaction was that it would attract unwanted attention to the club leading to possible loss of the club site. Also assumed that we would have to fly in tight formation to get the required (initially) dated photo evidence, which many had never done. It was pointed out that the flying would not be much different to our normal routine with the exception of relaxing our five in the air rule for 10 - 15 minutes every 100 years. Also the photoing could be done by multiple cameras so no need for formation flying. On the day it all went very smoothly even though the majority of the committee were absent for whatever reason. John
  22. Ace. That is just what our club achieved - 11 R/C plus 3 chuckies John
