  1. Thanks TigerOC, I have found material on Ebay. its all in Black and the outer material is water proof. Its designed for bean bags and out door seat covers that you sit on. I was planning on lining it with Black felt or something similar. I like the idea of a draw cord at the top. It'll keep everything in and secure.... I'll maybe order the material later and see how it goes. I'll look at a small pocket on it to carry a flask and sandwiches etc.....I think the water proof material is a must in case it rains. Need somewhere I know the electrics will be safe.... Jamie
  2. Posted by cymaz on 13/09/2014 18:53:31: Silly questions.... Where would the landing lights be if it landed at night on water? Elevator looks small since it doesn't get any jet thrust to help with effectiveness. Couldn't it have been lower? Edited By cymaz on 13/09/2014 18:54:24 It has landing gear at the start to.......wonder if there is lights on them but do they retract once there in the water.....Surely they must or they would be a hazard if left down in the water for snagging on debri ! The retract doors may be water tight sealed once closed. Little more information required and research maybe lol.... Quite a nice aircraft though....anything with wings ticks the boxes with me anyway lol.... Jamie
  3. Thanks for the response everyone. An electric trolley is out of the question. There is poor terrain and fences with no gates so I think it might be more of a burden than benefit ! This bag idea is a good one, My wonderful mother has a sewing machine so I'm wondering about sowing one up. Pete the bag that you show is basically the whole bells and whistles .....very cool.....If I can get material and base it round that kind of design would be good....... I'll need to approach my Mum first to see how the land lies lol......She may be delighted to get a wee project like this or I could be told to get lol... Plan B will be buying a fishing bag or Snow board bag...Either way it has to add very little weight and make my life easier Thanks everyone
  4. lol Dave....I've a black Lab..........not sure if he would be to happy though Bob I have seen on You tube vids with guys and there wings are in bags on there backs but think that might be proper wing bags.........not sure but they could be fishing rod bags......Didn't know you could get them that big !! Cymaz I thought you were going to have that link to helicopter rental service or something cheeky lol Thanks for the ideas....I'll need to think it trough.....proper pain the preverbial dropping them all the time and juggling etc..... Jamie
  5. Posted by Brent on 13/09/2014 22:21:59: last time I went into a model shop which was in fact Bentley at Doncaster I maxed out my 24hr old credit card of best part of 1100 quid followed by 2 hard years paying it back lmao. lesson learned very quickly. Colours will be solarfilm transparent blue with white solartrim for the upper. my sneaky way ov avoiding having to paint the cowl haha. yeah the cubs certainly going to be a big build so I thought something like this will get me in the air quickly and brush up a few building skills. I almost bought the wot 4 kit but trying to stay away from glow. small electric and petrol engine for the cub. Im currently picking the cyno off my fingers thinking here we go again the joys of cyno :D LoL credit cards !!! You sound like me....I did that to....steep learning curve...It would have been worse if the plane you sunk into it on credit was all smashed up but the bill was there still to pay......not good So its electric your going for, thats a bit more head scratching lol..... Nice an clean though and reliable to....Hopefully you will be flying it by next Saturday Brent
  6. Hi guys, I was just wondering if you guys have any simple teqnicues in how you carry you gliders etc to the high slopes during a lengthy walk. I've a good slope but its a good 1 . 5 miles all up hill obviously..... Next time I go up I have a maiden to perform but I'm taking my second trusty one just in case it goes wrong and I at least get a bit of flying in. Carrying 2 gliders, 4 wings and my back pack is quite a juggle.....Any advice other than find a new site lol........its very much worth the walk trust me !!! Jamie
  7. I've just noticed your title on thread DUHHHHHH , I'm totally sober to which makes it worse ....lol Jamie
  8. LoL.....nice quick build compared to what you have panned next......it will be pleasant to see the progress quite quickly. Whats the plan for covering colors etc
  9. Are you 2.4 ghz radio ?? Do you have failsafes programmed in ?? Such as if signal is lost the throttle idles untill signal is re-connected.....It almost sounds to me like you lost signal and there is a delay on 2.4 ghz before the gear comes back in line. My futaba fasst is about 4 seconds delay and I have the throttle set to idle if it happens ( Fail safe ) Jamie
  10. Where do you live Andrew, sounds like you might be close to me lol............sheep deer and rabbits where I live I'm in the highlands , Scotland NORTH!! Jamie
  11. Comes together quick Brent ....not heard of the kit manufacturer but it all looks ok. Hows the parts fitting for accuracy ?? Seems reasonably priced to at £70 ... Keep it flowing Jamie P.s Heard of Groupner just not Artex appart from ceilings in sitting rooms  Edited By Jamie sawyer on 13/09/2014 22:05:36
  12. Nice, its nose lifts really early on, but wow does she stick to the water after that. I assume on water aircraft there is a force between the water and the hull that has to be broken on take off.........I was expecting it to be airborne a bit before it was....
  13. Posted by Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 13/09/2014 11:30:50: A purely personal opinion but while I was OK with more than one model last year I came to the eventual conclusion that 5 was too many. In reality very few Barnstormers or Mini Tyros were actually built and I'm not aware of any Tinkers being built at all. The dominant models were the Dawn Flyer and the Mini Jazz, with fair sprinkling of Pushy Cats added in. So, whatever we do I think 5 is too many, Having one models selected does have advantages. Everyone involved feels much more part of a "building community" and it very much encourages the more experienced to "go the extra mile" and incorporate something different or novel which is always fun. But it has one major disadvantage - we don't all like the same type of model! If the Dawn Flyer had been the only model last year I doubt that many Mini Jazz or PC builders would have made one. And the converse is also true. So, how about this for a suggestion. We have two classes - a "Sports class" and a "Aerobatic" class. We can interpret those names pretty liberally, but basically: the "Sports" is for your everyday general models, can be semi scale or not, singles or twins, period or modern, but they are your basic "flys well R/C aeroplane". The DF and the Barnstormer would have fitted in here. The "aerobatic" is for your faster or aerobatic/3D type models so the Mini Jazz and the PC would fit in there. We ask for nominations in each class, have a vote for each class and announce one winner in each class. That hopefully will appeal to a wider group whilst at the same time achieving something of the "focussed" feeling of a one model Mass Build. What do we think? BEB I like the idea of this Beb but like some other people have mentioned, a catagorie of glider/pss thrown in. Maybe a 3rd section for the glider/ slope enthusiasts would be a consideration.....Up till now there isn't really an oppertunity for this and think a lot of people may second me on this....but maybe I'm wrong lol
  14. I really liked that video Josip, birds are such graceful creatures.....a wonder of the sky!!! Thanks for sharing it Birds of prey are your friends in the air on a normal day. They seem to join you if a thermal is about. Slope soaring and a buzzard circles in to your area rest assured he/she is there for a reason and try to take advantage of what they know.......and if your already enjoying one they may join you for the simple fact they can see the glider going up.....Both has happened to me recently
  15. booooohoooooo........ and I was going to run to the gate when the post arrived tomorrow ....
  16. Give it time and the posts will keep coming hopefully. I agree on the Biplane possibility and also like the ideas of a vintage of some sort. Not fussed on IC or elec...... Prefer a traditional build with wood rather that Foam or depron....Never tried that plus newbies might be put off on that choice of material ! Jamie
  17. I would like to take part.....on time hopefully this year as I only just built the Mini Jazz in the last couple of months....late comer lol.... Count me in
  18. I've just googled it and its come up with mainly a Magazine co called LSD Magazines. I assume it is probably not them that you receved the email from. Dandy Birds is a stuffed bird sellection. I tried googling Dandy Birds asking for payment on an invoice and it came up with nothing at all so this must be a relatively new scam. I'd just ignore it ER.......your not binding into a contract in ant way. You can report the email to here , hope this helps
  19. I just found this on here worth a read for the OP. Maybe since we haven't heard back from him he has sorted it already lol Jamie
  20. I really look forward to seeing you start this Brent, Good luck fella Ps.....Hope your health is ok Regards jamie
  21. Well as a Scotsman and living in Scotland I'll just sit back and read everyone's comments. It will be what it will be but Scotland having a little bit more say on how it runs can't be a bad thing.......There is a lot of pros and cons followed by endless arguments lol Lets not forget that not so long ago the cronies cut our RAF to almost non existent even though there was countless petitions and debates!!! Its a case of the have to show willing in the past and end up doing what they want throwing us a few crums at the end to keep us happy .....
  22. If you have a normal flight pack disconnect the ESC from the throttle port and plug the flight pack 4.8 volt into the throttle plug in the rx and see what happens.......You will be removing the esc from the equation and I suspect it is that.... Jamie
