  1. Hi David, I couldn't see myself doing that piece on the tail in litho! Had thought that there would be other places it could be useful! Did do a search on eBay, failure! Put a message out to my friends on FB and I think I may be in luck with a couple of sheets! Thanks Danny for the ali tape tip, will add a roll to the shopping list! Kevin, I don't do fizzy drinks, so beer cans it would have to be!! Thanks all.
  2. Geoff, having read your reply, time to give in to the urge and like Tony says, it's time to go 2.4! Have fun choosing, unless you've already got your eye on a particular Tx! You've created a lovely model, enjoyed your blog and wish you good luck with the maiden!
  3. Hi Geoff, I haven't gone back and reread the red wire post, but could you not just add a piece of wire to extend it before re soldering?
  4. Hi Danny & Chris, and any other in the know, on the 11th David P.Williams mentions lithoplate, is this a commodity that we'll be likely to use on the Chippie, if so l need to be on the lookout for some! Is there anything thing else that you can think of that might be handy to source beforehand! Thanks for any advice!
  5. I've always been told to use etch primer on bare aluminium so that would be the way I would go. Some people will say they've had no problems painting straight onto ali! Will be interesting to see what other advice comes forth!
  6. Danny, cheque book poised and ready when you get the final figure!
  7. How many planes make a flight, then make a squadron, Wing Commander Fenton! Just ordered all my parts so no going back now!  Edited By Glenn Stratton on 14/04/2014 15:43:03
  8. I would be quite happy to have an occasional copy of Model Boats drop through the door with my RCM&E! Yes transferable skills, maybe ideas you can develop, like a rescue boat for your float/seaplane! I too remember the earlier days when boats and cars were featured along with electric/electronic articles!
  9. Hiya, the guy that dealt with the CAP kits at AMC was diagnosed with something debilitating, and had no understudy! There is someone there trying to continue with the limited range, and when I spoke to him he was unsure if full range would be back! Pity cos I did fancy the DHC Beaver!
  10. Voted 1st scale, Chip Shop!, but also need to do shed things (insulate), I have a Ares 75 Tigermoth so need to find an indoor venue, refurbish a Flair Volture and get that to a power friendly slope, would also like to have a go at thermal, assemble a Seagull Spacewalker and do my B cert. Oh and I forgot about the Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk sitting in the loft to be built! So that will be 5 New Disciplines then! Maybe some will roll into next year!
  11. I'm not at all jealous Josip! Did you get to meet the great man himself? Will you be there watching the racing too? Skys coverage is not as good this year , they are not showing the quaifying rounds and the aerial shots are are reduced and distant! Very disapponted fan!
  12. Sound quality of this clip is much better I think than the tv coverage! Sunday, Sky Sports 3HD and repeated during the week.
  13. Hiya, ZK BAP powers his Airsail Chippie with a ASP61FS, says it's quite adequate, have a look at page 13 on the Chip Shop thread to see the rest of what he has to say. Think I've seen somewhere about an 8lb Airsail Chippie using lower power units. Page 8 Chip Shop,nr the bottom, Martin Harris. 8.5lb, OS52fs, takeoff on 1/2 throttle or less! 14. Did forget to mention that I'll drop in from time to time to see what you're getting up to ! Wish you all well with your endeavours .
  15. Ask the Mods nicely Levanter, and they might put a picture of your choice under your header, like they've done on the Chip Shop thread!
  16. Nicely said Jim. Happy flying Strato.
  17. No prob Trevor. As I think I said in previous post here, I was going to purchase the 58" version to get me back into building, but I'm jumping in at the deep end with the Chippie build now! Tigger will be after that now. Hope the repairs get sorted, weather behaves and you get a good maiden, as in flight!
  18. Sorry to hear about your angst Trevor! Could it be more that depron has corrupted your train of thought too early, rather than ineptitude ! Hope you get back on track and the repairs go well then you can get on with the DH71!
  19. Tis not you I don't think Kevinb! I wasn't brave enough to query it, I couldn't recall properly but remember something about having the axle near or in front of the leading edge of the wing, also aids reducing ground loops? 20. So the Airsail version (also 1/6 scale) works out to about 2.7kg/5lb15oz, will be interesting to see the weight of ours at the finish! Think somebody mentioned in earlier post they thought about 7.5lbs.
  21. ZK, sorry n'other question, and I know you shouldn't ask a lady , but do you know off hand what she weighs in at?
  22. Nice one ZK . I have a Saito 65 (550g) so I think that's going to find its home in mine! Edited By Glenn Stratton on 09/04/2014 11:27:01
  23. Hi ZK BAP, good to hear about your Chippie, what did you power yours with and where's the piccy!
