Posted by Colin Leighfield on 26/05/2015 16:00:10: Excellent Danny, much better than mine. I think the Bucker Bestmann is a very attractive plane. Although it is an Ideal model subject and someone will have done it, I've never seen one that I can recall. I saw on the SLEC stand at Gaydon 2 years ago the prototype Bestmann they were developing, looked very nice, but not seen or heard anything of it since.

What's flying over your house
Glenn Stratton replied to David Pearce 4's topic in Full Size Aviation
Thanks Colin, I wanted to say Kittyhawk, do you know if it is it powered by Merlin or Allison, it did sound good! Edited By Glenn Stratton on 03/07/2015 18:55:55 -
What's flying over your house
Glenn Stratton replied to David Pearce 4's topic in Full Size Aviation
Just been treated to a brilliant 5 minute display by this P40 (correct me if I'm wrong) in Sandy. Images are just squared and on a 400mm lense. -
I'm planning on being at O.W, would be great to make your acquaintances Danny, Colin & Martin.

Hi Nev, you have produced a neat pair of wing tip lights, can you give some more information on how you made the housings please.

Whirlwind No3
Glenn Stratton replied to A.A. Barry's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
Looking forward to watching your progress Barry, I too have a soft spot for the Whirly since building the Airfix kit in my youth. -
Pete Lowe, RCM&E columnist
Glenn Stratton replied to David Ashby - Moderator's topic in All Things Model Flying
Very sad news indeed. Heartfelt condolences to Janet, family and friends. Like a few others his was one of the first columns I turned to in the mag, will sorely miss his contributions. -
Mark Lane has it right, Parc Amber adjustable quiet mount with rubber bushes. Sadly they are no more. Mine doesn't have the split pins, yet! Ps I have a brochure (I think) if I can find it I'll scan and post it on here. Edited By Glenn Stratton on 11/02/2015 14:26:25 Edited By Glenn Stratton on 11/02/2015 14:41:14

Saito 40S, well suited and generally flies on about 3/4 throttle.

I'm hoping to be at O.W for the Gathering, if any one else is going it would be great to meet up. As Martin F. has said BlackhorseIreland is nice, and there are a few other places nearby to stay overnight for the first airshow of the season the next day!

I've only ever glassed a wing join, so yes I would like to see how you go about doing a complete airframe Danny. Were you due a new Rotocraft? Now I see the canopy rail in place I see what you were saying!

Thanks for the warning Keith.

Hi Ian, will be following your endeavours cos I think this will be something interesting! I think I read somewhere that its original wingspan was 48".

What a magician ,very realistic, was this achieved with the petroleum jel as you mentioned in a previous post, if so how did you manage not to smear it over the adjacent matt black when rubbing down or have you had to have a bit of a clean up?! Looking forward to seeing the other tricks you have up your sleeve!

Building Tony's Beaufighter
Glenn Stratton replied to Robert Parker's topic in Tony Nijhuis plan builders
Well done Robert, you've done a magnificent job on the Beau, I like the little touches, weathering etc. Good luck with the maiden. -
Doh!! Hadn't thought about that, back to the drawing board! Edited By Glenn Stratton on 07/11/2014 22:10:15

Hi Danny, I may not have stand yet but I'm following all the Chippie blogs gleaning hints and tips! Your "duel" function revelation and seeing the bell crank has given me an idea, if possible off set and lower the elevator push rod and hopefully the rough sketch will explain the rest! If this is feasible, and the movable bits centralised, would this idea make joining the two fuselage halves together easier also? Your thoughts, reflections and constructional criticisms taken on board gratefully!

Hi Danny, I managed to get there for a couple of hours, also picked up some wood for my Chippie from slec. But I unfortunately didn't notice a light blue polo shirt! Edited By Glenn Stratton on 26/10/2014 22:14:31

Flair Cub (foam wing, to get airborne quickly!) Saito 40s 4stroke, Fleet radio. Still got both 15yrs on, Cub on its 2nd undercarridge, vac nose replaced with balsa, and now guided by Hitec Aurora.

That looks promising then Danny, I quite like the idea of using two fixing screws so 35mm to play with is good. I would like to soften the spring a bit also as it does seem a bit stiff. Just remember to use plenty of lubricant and you should be ok. Its been a while since I tapped ali, so hopefully someone with current experience will step in with some appropriate advice. Sorry Martin, mine arrived in about 12 days.

Yep, in Sandy, Martin. Sometimes lucky all depends on flight paths, sometimes see nothing but teased by engine noise!
