I'm enjoying the build on the FX707 so much that I've ordered on from E-bay so keep the "mods" coming!
-
Checked the current draw with a 8x4.5 prop (static) 14.6 amps will give it a try when it stops raining!
-
Have now flown the Phoenix 1600s on 3s batts .No problems motor slightly warm on landing it's a bit tricky to get at the ESC but seems ok.
-
Will report on performance when I've flown it in better weather!
-
Had a 1600 s for Xmas! so I thought I would check the current draw to use 3s batts using a 9x5 (instead of the supplied 10x6) and 19.5 amps so that I think should be ok?The ESC has 2-3s 30a on it so will give it a try!

Thanks for the help. Linds.

Learnt to fly on one of these .I think the Bixler took it's glory! cheaper but not as good.

Hi can anyone help? How to use a 3s batt. in the Volantex 1600 glider ,seems to be set up for 2s? I was advised by Wheelspin models that the ESC is not suitable for 11.4 v. I have loads of small 3s would like to use.

Hi all I'm looking for advice on a suitable motor for the above it has a fire-wall in thick ply. This plane was swapped for a bottle of Merlot! A lot of repairs done now need to fit a motor I have a Phoenix 2000 1050k that might do.When I fit it the shaft seems a bit short.Any help would be good thanks.

Yes Tosh all the gliders on Sailplane if you don't I think crow/ flap won't work.I had to ask a few years ago on here to get the crow to work on the DX8
-
Hi Tosh I think the way forward i to dump this and start a new model memory and i'm sure the throttle will "normal" to channel 1 on the rx If it's a spectrum rx all will work I use a Lemon RX 6 chan and a 610 spectrum in the 2400 phoenix all work ok.
-
I agree with most of the above .The club I joined a few years ago has shrunk ,it started many years ago at a large public park and a small rent paid to the local council. That has gone with the CAA regs. so more flyers will pack it in I'm afraid.

Hi I have a Phoenix 2ooo and a 2400 great gliders. Both flown with aDX8 . Ihad a look at my TX and always have the throttle on the normal stick pos. the 2000 flaps on a Y-cord aelirons on the normal rx port. The 2400 has "crow" braking as it's a heavy old lump! Ailerons left normal port rt aileron to aux (6) .The switch A I use as a "motor" cut switch for safety. Don't know why your set up has split-flaps tho'- Switch D does all the flaps/crow.

Looking at all this stuff I think now that seeing "most" of us should have done the same as we did with Maggie's "poll-tax' and refused to pay. We seem to be a soft touch. I think it will get worse until the hobby goes further down the pan.
