  1. Impressive stuff Richie Not something I've ever done, yet John
  2. Well the wheels are in motion, CAA are looking into it. I can't give any details other than telling you, i e-mailed Manny Williamson at BMFA, I received a prompt reply and the club was offered support and told the BMFA would help out if needed. So on behalf of Don valley, a public thank you to Manny and the BMFA John
  3. That's first time I've heard that Phil pleased you had a good day. John
  4. Try hobby king film Tony, its much better and costs very little John
  5. I hope the weather gods are kinder to all you folk that work hard to run events, the last few years have not been great. Hope the sun shines and you have a good time John
  6. Posted by Plummet on 14/05/2014 13:27:06: I'll be there - we're helping out. We usually end up on the entrance gate. Say hello. Plummet p.s We are fat hairy people. p.p.s And please have the right money. Having enough change is always a nightmare. I thought you were a fat feathered person Plummet, will you be stood up or sat on your throne John
  7. Ali fights, Apollo missions, Cuban crisis, early wildlife documentary's Attenborough, Custeau etc And best of all 1966 World Cup...(that one will get me in bother) John
  8. Sounds like a good idea to me Peter. I don't use that specific set, but i'm sure there will be something to be learned. John
  9. Don't be so hard on yourself CSB its your opinion, fair enough. I don't have a problem folk praising something they like, it happens with the Wots, engines, electrics etc etc. We all have our own minds and make our own choices. I've enjoyed the thread myself, learnt quite a bit and have to say I want one. I don't need it, but i'm very keen to have a dabble. As for it takes time to learn..so did flying, building, covering, walking, talking. so what. John
  10. I would think so John I see you read Jeffs thread you just need a throttle, not a stop a go one May pay to look at u/c as well, looks a nice model John
  11. Peter Sallis ? last of summer wine ? Anyway all stuff you've mentioned just reminds me why I don't watch telly John
  12. No Danny Meet at the scale line We can go over a few rivets John
  13. The question was worried men ? Its stated elsewhere (most popular brand) that price of main brand rx's has been driven down (USA). So the answer appears to be Yes. Good news if it happens in the UK. John
  14. I am in the wrong thread but you started it Ed's comment on rx prices has got to be good news for everyone, not before time methinks. John
  15. Hello Olly In my opinion no, being a scale model it has one or two quirks, it will tip stall (flaps will help with this). Also the scale u/c makes it prone to nosing over. So being as you said first low wing trainer and I am assuming you don't have a lot of experience i'd go for something else. Black Horse travel air, spacewalker, pulse, lots to chose from. John
  16. P.S. if it is Cermark I had their pitts special, that was great John
  17. Sukhoi's are fantastic W.F Ask it to do something, it does it pronto They will bite if you take liberty's though, if you have enough flying behind you, you will love it. If not rebuild and save for later. John
  18. Thinking maybe put a ply surround on cockpit area, either stain or cover in silver or ali tape, it just seems a bit delicate for my clumsy fingers. What you think ? Weight with rx 4 servo's, U/c and wing covering to go is 1lb 12 oz. John
