  1. There are lots of what-ifs Ron....
  2. I hadnt looked at the repository for a while, thanks Kevin for the nudge. And low and behold somebody has drawn the venturi! It's still under debate, but if you draw it and print it yourself then you do not have to declare it and there are no penalties in scale competition. But don't quote me as there is much debate still... It then does beg the question, how do we know the competitor drew it and didnt just download it..... Cheers Danny
  3. Revolve is very handy to create cylindrical objects about an axis I find the biggest problem is when you return after a week and have to re-learn ? Cheers Danny
  4. Thanks Simon, its been fun, you will just have to wait and see ? Progress can be followed on my Youtube channel if you are interested ? New Video blog every Friday at 8pm. Blatant advertising here....... Cheers Danny
  5. LOL excellent Ron, and thanks for the info. I have had a quick peek at the windscreen, and using .25 Plastic have a pretty snug fit. Whether it will work as well when I move to .5 PETG is another matter! Cheers Danny (and Les)
  6. Great thanks Ron ? you have fitted the batt to the sides or the top? How many flights does that give you before recharging? Cheers Danny
  7. My second thought, if the top is not big enough for whatever pack I choose, is one of the sides a good choice? Cheers Danny
  8. I am hoping to place my Rx pack in the engine bay, probably the top section.
  9. He is also concerned that Saito will keep spinning.....
  10. True, not to mention the drag! However, if I fit the front screen, then the top glazing, we are almost at painting time. Which I enjoy very much. Cheers Danny
  11. Well my pilot is in the cockpit at last. I was able to add the framework above his head with the elevator trim winder permanently. I also sanded and primed the venturi, you will recall I drew this in Fusion 360 and asked a friend to resin print it. I guess one of the next tasks is one I am dreading, fitting the forward screen....... Cheers Danny
  12. Yaaay update soon, the pilot is finally dry enough to handle!!! Cheers Danny
  13. I think the problem is the undercarriage forward struts are clamped to the bulkhead on the inside. You can just see the nuts. So if you wanted to use that area the undercarriage would need a re-design. Cheers Danny
  14. LOLOL trust me to rely on auto-corrupt........
  15. Only draw back Alan, and it may be that you can get thinner tips, this has a 2mm chisel tip, and its not good for getting into crevasses ?
  16. Alan, I think he needs a really good talking to, don't you? He is in the warm and has been all along, so I am not sure more heat would help? Look at this neat pen I spotted trawling the web, as you do.... Its a chrome felt pen, really neat... made in Germany (of course) MOLOTOW is the brand.
  17. Still trapped in the Auster cockpit, today was the turn of the elevator trim winder and the support tubing above the cockpit. This cannot be secured until the pilot is in, you guessed it, still not dry ? Cheers Danny
  18. Hi David, I didn't think they looked wrong shall we say, but I didn't measure them. Cheers Danny
  19. I am still waiting for the pilot to dry, and unfortunately the cross beam of tubes above his head cannot be sorted until the pilot is in and seated. he wont fit in past the tubes. I have however had a picture back of my first own designed Fusion part, a friend has resin printed it ? Looks a bit ragged, but I am sure with a little cleaning up it will look great. Cheers Danny
  20. Had a play with the flap actuating lever, couldn't believe how long the beast is, almost the width of the door! The torque bar operates the starboard side on the full size. Cheers "trapped in the cockpit" Danny
  21. I like most modellers that have flown few circuits, were in awe of Mick Reeves Fournier and Mick Charles Jurca Sirroco. These had working instruments. Does anyone know how they were actuated? Just curious.....
  22. Thanks chaps, yes Alan I just cannot resist. It's not accurate Cymaz, those brackets are the wrong shape, the pulleys should be behind the tubes.... But thank you anyway ? Cheers Danny
  23. Did a little more, still trapped in the cockpit mind you...... Added the aileron pulleys and cables, not terribly accurate but gives the feel. Cheers Danny
  24. So the oils on the pilot figure are touch dry so I continued with some lowlights. Again in oil so unfortunately a 2 week wait for the paint to dry ***Sigh*** but in fairness it has blended very well so I am not too concerned. Bit rough but better than my usual efforts. Cheers Danny
