  1. Tim - Yes I epoxied 4-40 blind nuts into the centre section and then lock the outer wing panels in with 4-40 socket head screws
  2. Posted by Tim Ballinger on 18/11/2017 08:57:41: 3 piece wing - few challenges there I think. Though With hinges it would be even closer to the Tigercat inspiration . Tim This is the 3 piece wing I made for my Flugboot. I'm afraid hing is quite a bit beyond my capabilities though.
  3. I have started on this one also. I've only started cutting parts to make my "kit", but may put those aside and get the plans reprinted to 60 or 63 inches. I have been thinking of adding flaps, ailerons, and retractable mains and at the moment I on makinf a 3 piece wing. At the current scale the Centre section would be 20 inches wide, ending just outside the nacelles. It may be time for me to rethinks things over though so I'll be following your log with interest.
  4. Nice job - I'm also tempted, but nowhere to run it around here.
  5. MonoKote covering comes in "clear"

it popped up on Netflix last week and I've started watching it. I enjoyed it, but have only watched the first episode so far. Didn't realize that Diana Riggs' daughter was in it. Loved "The Avengers" back in the sixties.
  7. I am also interested as it is on my short list for building this winter. Any extra info will be helpful.
  8. Yes Chris, the Vicomte is still in the queue. I took 3 sets of (pdf) plans to "Staples" for full size sets of prints, Peter's Grumpy Tiger Cub, his Werewolf, and The Vicomte 1915 from Outerzone. There are so many that I would like to build and every month a new one comes along, like this months Weekender motor glider. I have to make a decision soon as it started snowing here today so building season is upon us. The snow won't stay, but... Right now I am leaning towards starting with the Grumpy Tiger Cub and have started an album with a picture of a De Havilland Hornet prot0ype ( yellow underside) that I plan to finish it as even though the Grumand Tiger Cat paint scheme would be more appropriate.
  9. Hi Chris - looks like a fun project. Is there a recommended C of G, and where is the recommended battery location?
  10. My [small] workshop has a bathroom off it and since I build and fly electric I store my planes from the shower rod [on coat hangers with pipe insulation] and in the bathtub. We have another bathroom for daily use.
  11. I use a similar stripper. I find that it works best if set on a non-slip rubber pad.
  12. Here's my latest build, a slightly [90%] scaled down Swizzle Stick 30 made from a downloaded free plan. I scaled it down to use a wing I had previously built. It weights a kilo. I'm using an 890kV motor with a 9x9 APC prop drawing 19.5 amps for about 220 watts. It was too windy to fly today; even the birds were sitting it out on the runway.
