  1. I'm also watching, CNC always interests me.
  2. I had a lot of trouble renewing also. My subscription was to expire on 25/12/2015 so I sent in a payment on November 10th, which was acknowledged, but not withdrawn from my account. After many emails back and forth and another attempt to pay I was resubscribed on 22/01/2016, yesterday. It was quite a frustrating experience, probably one I won’t bother to go through when this subscription runs out, we’ll see. The people at [email protected] were the ones who eventually straightened things out for me.
  3. I live in the centre [Winnipeg] of Canada and have bought from them with no problems.
  4. My power choice has to be electric and from 44 to 66" span 1. Fairchild Super 71 2 Mitsubishi Zero
  5. I really liked his music, and same age as me.
  6. Posted by Craig thomas 1 on 08/12/2015 21:14:51: Wish my postman was like yours. One thing I know I'm going to have a problem with is knowing which size wood is which. None of the balsa is labeled so I'm going to have to measure everything. As for identifying the soft balsa from the medium well, I've not more chance of winning the lottery. It all looks and feels the same to me. For measuring balsa I have some small off cuts, about 1” x 3” in the different thickness’ at the back of my bench with the thickness printed on them. I just push them up to the sheet I’m going to use and match the right one up. I gauge the hardness of the sheet by holding it at the end and waving it. The softer ones are noticeably more flexible than the harder ones. It works pretty good, but I might try weighing them next time I need to buy some. For measuring balsa I have some small off cuts, about 1” x 3” in the different thickness’ at the back of my bench with the thickness printed on them. 7. I voted “Electric” because if it wasn’t for electric power I wouldn’t be building and flying. After getting too sick to look after my house and yard we’ve had to move into a condo on the third floor of a five story building. My new shop is a rather large walk through closet off the spare bedroom. We wouldn’t be able to deal with the odors and potential danger of storing fuel for ICE powered models in our new home.
  8. 1. Ballerina 2. Oodalally 3. Werewolf I am a digital subscriber in Canada so if I want the pull out plan I have to wait for the newsstand copy which comes out several weeks later than in England so I will not be starting until near the end of January . Another plug for a digital copy of the FREE pullout plans being made available to us digital subscribers.
  9. I live in Canada and have the digital only subscription. I am an Android user and I can view it on all my devices; my phone, tablet and my PC and laptop. It could only get better if they would include a pdf file of the free pull out plan. Now I have to go the the bookstore and buy a paper issue of the mag if there is a plan I am interested in. I really hesitated on renewing my sub because of this. I was able to subscribe through the website.
  10. Good point - I am new at this, but thought that would be the case. Thanks
  11. Hi – I like the old homebuilts and have just finished a scratch built Volksplane. Now I’m starting on a Woody’s Pusher **LINK** that will probably take me all winter and winters are very long here in the middle of Canada.
  12. Hi – I am building a Woody’s Pusher **LINK** which of course needs a pusher propeller. Because of clearance issues I want to use a 9x6 3 blade. Am I right in thinking that a standard prop could be used just by having the motor turning the other direction? Thanks, Steve
  13. I am kind of new to the hobby, having only just finished scratch building my first airplane. My local hobby shop only sells the Master Airscrew plane so that's what I used and was very happy with it. It comes with a sturdy resharpenable blade with a 25° edge and I can buy replacement ones if needed. I like it.
  14. It's arrived here in Canada, I bought a couple last week.
  15. Yes I agree, I learn a lot from studying the plans I got in the magazines I purchased last year, before becoming a digital subscriber to this one. I'm scratch building my first RC airplane, a "Volksplane" from a John Blakey free plan in the march 2014 issue of 'Quiet & Electric Flight" It had almost no build article and the plans left off some details that I was able to work out from other plans and from reading all of Peter Lowes columns in the digital archive. The plan was 2 sided and sharply creased so the first thing I had to do was take it to Staples and get it copied. I'm sure I would have gotten a better copy if I had been able to just hand them a USB stick with the plan on it.
  16. Posted by Steven Shaw on 13/07/2015 19:59:28: Hi - I also live in Canada and was wondering if there are any plans to make a pdf version [at a reasonable cost] available for us digital subscribers. The free plan that is. If I see a plan I like in my digital edition it takes about 3 months for the magazine to appear in the local bookshops before I can buy it.
