  1. Adrian, I set my dual ace on the heli side of the tx,put throttle on normal for one side and put the other on pitch. That way you can adjust both ends and middle on the throttle and pitch curves. Then set one of the stunt mode switches with more travel on low end on both channels to cut both engines.See the thing flying on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch? Colin.
  2. The hannibal as you probably know is a scaled up magnatilla which is a scaled up attila. The centre of gravity is right on the main spar. Colin.
  3. Asim, how big (wingspan) is the cub and has it got a full throttle control.Asumeing it`s a decent size with throttle control, line up into wind about 150 yrds out and about 40-50 ft high at about half power, gradualy closing down the power the model will lose height(asuming model is trimed to straight and level) use the power to control the height and elevator to hold the nose up,keep the wings level and flair out at the last moment. Good luck. Colin.
  4. I must admit I did put the C of G a bit further forward than sujested.I had to use 3/4 of a lb in nose, so perhaps these probs have been sorted. Colin.
  5. Good for you Matt,I suppose ARTF`s have there place but as you say there not really your own work.
  6. I`ve built and flown a Duel Ace it`s on youtube(www.youtube.com/watch?) Watch out for the very weak nose leg, I made a new one, apart from that it goes together and fly`s very well.I`ve got 2 os 46 AX eng. more than enough power so LA`s should be ok also they are a very reliable engine good luck. Colin.
  7. Our club is much the same, 28 memberabout 25% fly, it seems for some it has to be wall to wall sunshine then they moan about the heat. Sad int it.Oh well it takes all sorts. Colin.
  8. That "Phoenix Models Sport 40" looks good. I haven`t tried though. ARTF at about £65 Bargain.
  9. Hello Matt, I`m not young well not to you anyway.I just like to say it`s good to hear of some young blood starting out in the hobby.I`ve been flying now for almost 30 yrs and am still just as keen. It`s great the way r/c gear has changed over the years,I`m not so sure about ARTF`s I guess I`m just an old stick in the mud.Well Matt I hope somebody takes you on and teach you well.Best advice, join a club, you`ll be amaized. Good luck and happy landings. Colin.
  10. Nothing to it really, just turn out main mix about 2 turns then put a piece of fuel tubing onto fuel nipple now blow on fuel tubeing whith carb set about tick over position and turn low end mix until you can only just hear a slight squeak. Start the engine and fine tune in the normal way. Good luck Colin.
  11. Try John D Haytree His Tel No is 01626852330 Good luck, Colin.
  12. I agree with Dead stick, also if your in a club ask around for other members opinions. Colin.
  13. I have always used John D Haytree (Devon) for most unusual spares his tel no is: 01626852330 Good luck Colin.
  14. I`ve got varius 4 strokes and I can say hand on heart Saito`s are fantastic just fly and forget, use a good synthetic though. Colin.
  15. Sorry cant give you hand because I live in suffolk, but I did start one myself about 12 years ago. Some advise I could give is keep things on a low key, avoid clashes with helis and planes, don`t have to many rules just the BMFA guidlines.Good luck. Colin.
  16. I`ve never used a t/tiger 4st but have used lots of other makes of 4st.I would strongly recamend a good quality sythetic fuel running slightly rich,as for g/plug an OS Type F.and prop size in a W4 I would say about 12x6. Good luck Colin.
  17. Still reckon tank is foaming, you need to pack some foam around the tank not too tightly.9 times out of 10 in my 27yrs of exp. its poor plumbing or foaming fuel.Leaking carby`s make a mess and may make the engine run unevenly, you can alow adjustment for that, but air in the fuel will kill it dead. Good luck. Colin.
  18. Have a look into the exhaust port (with the complete exhaust removed) if the valve stem is carboned up that could be your problem)use a good quality synthetic fuel.
  19. Next time you fit an la inverted put "Type F" plug in, worked for me.

  21. Sounds to me like the fuel is frothing up in the tank.A full tank can`t froth up, but after running for a few minutes there`s enough room to bubble up and send fresh air to your carby.
