  1. Use the old fashioned fusewire from an old fashioned electricians shop.
  2. Thank you for replying and explaining what the initials FCC mean. My only interest in this thread was the assertion that flying fcc in England was illegal and therefore my activities are illegal. One of the contributors has cleared this for me. You say that Fcc no longer applies here but because I do not use LBT whatever that means it seems to create a kind of limbo. Do you have any views on one of the previous contributions which stated that because Radiomaster and Jumper can transmit Fcc they are illegal in England and no self respecting retailer would touch them and, furthermore they are in use because nobody “bothers” Are there any penalties in England for using transmitters that are “illegal”? I do not fly RM or Jim
  3. I am somewhat confused by the ad vice in this discussion. FCC. Seems legal on trannys pre 2015 but all Radiomaster and Jumper trannys sold after 2015 are now illegal because they can transmit FCC, is that correct?but the advice is to use them anyhow because nobody bothers whether they are legal or not; Is my interpretation correct? Are the certificates of conformity any good?
  4. Hi I have read with concern your statement that the use of r/c kit with fcc is illegal. I have been using my Taranisx9 since 2014 in fcc as it was sold, and I regularly buy fcc receivers from T9. Are you sure that my actions are illegal ?
  5. try cutting a slot big enough for a screwdriver blade in the end of the adapter so that the screwdriver can hold the adapter whilst the lock nut is tightened.
  6. I use an Antex craft tool with extreme care on the hot setting for film. Many different shoes are available
  7. Thank you for all your help, I certainly take the point that surface movements should be resolved mechanically as far as possible before adjusting my TX. A combination of re-calibration and putting in a minimum value for my servo output adjustment seems to have done the trick.
  8. I use a Taranis 9d plus transmitter and recently had occasion to reduce the servo travel throws on the rudder and elevator of a model by 40% or more. When I checked my channel monitor I found that when the servos had reached their set limits the sticks still had 40% more travel which was “lost”. I had not noticed this effect before because other adjustments were so small I did not notice. My question is whether this is expected, it seems logical enough to me but my co pilots who are all Spekky users claim this would no happen on their transmitters. I have made the servo adjustments using “inputs” “mixers” and “outputs severally and independently but the result is the same.
  9. Hi, born 1932, read your postings and bought Huawei d15.
  10. Thank you for that Andy48

I can't find a channel monitor on my QX7 transmitter, is there one?
  12. Probably the best way to find out if any farmer is likely to cooperate is to speak to the local NFU mutual rep. who will already have extensive contacts with his farmer clients and who may be willing to put you in touch with a prospect.
  13. I finally tried to modify my 'd8II plus rx' using Mike's instructions but I have not got very far. When I activate the STM software I get: "no response from target, the bootloader cannot be started.............................." I am using a gadget in the USB slot of my PC connected to my RX which has a label "fdd-lite-rev2" I have reversed the rx and tx leads into the rx which seems to produce another response ".......not recognised". The RX starts up without the light flashing so I imagine I have got that part right at least. sometimes I get the message from STM that it is not responding so I have tried downloading at different times but all to no effect. Advice would be welcome. RayMac
  14. Thanks Mike, after I return. Happy Christmas! RayMac
  15. I an sorry to be a bore but I am having trouble opening Mike Blandfords files attached to his item on d8 /d16. I have opened the zip files but when i try to open the files I get the message "can't open RADIO/radio.binfiles" can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? RayMac
  16. Hi Mike, does your firmware for the d8 incorporate model identity which was not a feature of the Frsky system? Raymac
  17. I am using Companion 2.2 but I find that the screen on the simulator is locked on to the TX Lcd. I think there used to be three tabs above this area to enable one to switch between outputs and the YX Lcd screen. Is this a glitch in the software or is it me? Is there a solution?
  18. Is there an equivalent to Solartrim anywhere?
  19. I have finally cracked it! I created a new file on my sd card named "SCRIPTS" in capitals, I then created a sub file in Scripts named "WIZARD" which has all the bmp and lua scripts in it.........et voila! I have a fully functioning new model wizard with all the pictures and options driven from the blank model spaces on my TX. Thank you to all those who have striven to help solve my relatively insignificant problem.
  20. Painless 360, the new scribe for RCM&E, has put up a video tip for reassigning IDs. Like you I find these quirks irksome but somehow I manage to live with them ; nothing is perfect.
  21. Trebor I am only using empty empty slots for new models. Some of them have been used before for models which have been deleted which brings me to yet another problem! When I try to use these "blank" slots for another new model using the wizard I have the message that the ID for the slot has already been used so not only does the wizrd fail to work but t will not even crete the basic F.W, model. I can of course put new models in these slots manually or by copying and changing IDs but.........?
  22. Ray when I click the "create" key there are no pictures at all the Tx simply adds "new model withe the basic functions for a f.w. aircraft. I will check to see if the script directory is missing. If it is I may need more help.
