  1. Hello Timo, I like your family of 109's, and the Yokosuka Ohka. I think these would be good candidates for slope soaring as unpowered PSS models. Would you be willing to part with a copy of the various plans? Martin.
  2. And now for something completely different! The TF-86:  Edited By Martin Gay on 12/11/2020 11:14:44
  3. Come on Ade, you need to get building one of these!
  4. It is your model, build it how you want it! Just say "NO!" (or similar) to the Scale Police.
  5. Tony, There is no rotating beacon behind the ejection seat. Although it looks like one, it is actually a Radio Compass Loop Antenna (ADF). **LINK**
  6. I have dealt with Cliff (the owner) on many occasions. He is very well known in the scale glider world. Lots of happy customers on this forum: **LINK** Martin.
  7. Hello Craig, PDF's emailed! Magnets would probably be the easiest way to hold the sidewinder and the pylons onto the underside of the wing if you are stuck for ideas. Regards, Martin
  8. Craig, The amount of detail you add to the model is dependent on your building skill and on how knowledgeable your local "Scale Police" are about the Sabre! I personally try to trade off one against the other! Martin. Edited By Martin Gay on 01/10/2020 12:09:38
  9. Unfortunately, the circumstances are beyond PSSA control, and it is only right that we comply with the current restrictions. Hopefully we will be able to meet up for a short notice flying session once the local lockdown has eased again, and if the weather is favourable. As you said, at least we had a great flying session at the last event.
  10. You should be good then Chris. The list was put together with what I should have used!
  11. Chris, The prototype Sabre model was built to a tight timeline. I put it together with the balsa that I had to hand. The fibreglass on the wings may have been a heavier weave as well. Martin.
  12. Chris, The prototype wing, fully finished with four servos, weighs 650g. The Gamma build wing, fully finished with four servos, weighs 549g due to better balsa selection! Martin.
  13. Hi Daryl, The Ar555 certainly got some airtime, I had three flights with it with the CG being adjusted backwards each time. It was built from a Chris Golds EDF plan, by Gordon Studley and looks most unusual in the sky. It is very easy to get confused as to which way it is flying! I believe Phil Cooke might have taken a few photos of it in the air. Martin.
  14. Craig I use a four Nimh pack in a two by two format. It's an Enerloop 2000Mah. I also have about 70g of lead in front of it. The whole lot is wedged in place in the front of the battery box with foam. Martin.
  15. We hope to have a prototype Mig ready to fly at the first PSSA meeting of 2021. Lots of work still to do! Keep your fingers crossed
  16. I enjoyed watching the maiden flight on the Great Orme on Saturday. Your Sabre looked great in the air and very stable on the landing approach. You must be well pleased!
  17. Andy, I don't know of anything to protect the balance plugs. However, there are XT60 caps available on Thingiverse if you know anyone with a 3D printer: **LINK** Martin. Edited By Martin Gay on 02/09/2020 11:09:44
  18. Andy, I use these non conductive indicator caps: **LINK** They fit XT60 and EC3 connectors. Also available from Hobbyking. Martin. Edited By Martin Gay on 02/09/2020 08:53:54
  19. Craig, No drawings, Gordon eyeballed the location, but I will photograph their location on the the prototype model. Martin.
  20. Chris, I didn't use a bandage over the centre join. The lower wing surface was glassed in two pieces with a slight overlap at the middle. The upper surfaces were done the same way. Martin. Edited By Martin Gay on 29/08/2020 21:09:25
  21. Skip, Welcome to the Mass Build. We have some free drawings of missiles and drop tanks if you want to go down that route! Martin.
  22. I only attended on the Saturday. Despite the challenging wind direction/slope combination it was a very enjoyable day in the sun. Many thanks for the organisation Phil, I look forward to next month's session on the Orme.     Edited By Martin Gay on 12/08/2020 09:19:08
