Not quite Mercury Tiger Moth - RC conversion

Looks very impressive Mike I’m looking forward to seeing more of your posts. I notice you’ve sheeted the tail and fin is that to avoid warping 🤔 -
Autumn's here, who's been flying?

You Must be in a parallel universe Aidan………Reporting from dismal dark dank Derbyshire resigned to hanging up the transmitter until next year. 😢 -

Junior 60 fuselage
Lowandslow replied to Lowandslow's topic in Vintage Kits, Semi-Kits and Plan Projects
Thanks Pat that’s really useful. It’s a Ben Buckle version. Come to think of it my glide was a bit of a hurried affair so moving the cg back should improve that. Outrunner when you get the chance I’d appreciate some set up photos. -

Thanks Outrunner I like the vertical battery concept. -
I need to build a new fuselage for my electric Junior 60 following an unfortunate incident in the hanger and while I’m at I thought why not extend the out of proportion snub nose by around 40-50mm and try to lose some of that annoying 8 ounces of lead which was previously required to achieve the correct CofG. I’m also pondering whether shortening the tail end by 30-40mm would also help swing the moments in the right direction. Has anyone any experience of a similar modification? (Albert Hatfull has no need to know about this discussion)

You are dead right there Cuban. How long has the Max Thrust Riot been on the market with its incredibly poor cheaper than cheep clevises and less than free running elevator and rudder push rods, since 2012? I bought a foamy one last month and it’s a nice enough model apart from these annoying issues which still persist in 2023. I did point this out to both Century and the LMS supplier two weeks ago via emails and what does seem to have changed since 2012 is that they don’t bother to respond anymore. There must be more Riots flying and surviving than flying and crashing I suppose so my little niggle is not worthy of a reply. I do understand that the BMFA use these as trainers so I wonder if they upgrade theirs as a matter of course prior to flying 🤔
