  1. This is my sunbird install....now sold on and I can't recall the wing servos, but I'm sure I got them from Tony Fu
  2. It"s primary purpose will be as a glider tug, but also as a practice low winger for my next scale project...a YT Bucker Bestmann...
  3. I bought this somewhat tired airframe some months ago, and after installing a Zenoah 45 and fabricating a new noseleg, plus a fiar amount of other fettling, I reckon it's almost ready for. Atest flight...it's a heavy old thing...
  4. Yep, it was FAB, I was there too with the Mrs....what a great day...shame that the scheduled Red Arrows display was nothing more than an unannounced single Flypast...didn't have my camera ready....
  5. Posted by Budgie Daz on 30/07/2014 07:39:12: It may be a lot easier and quicker, especially if you have to connect and disconnect all of those leads to simply solder on a multiplug. I use 6s male and female ended extension balance plugs for this, as it gives 7 wires. I solder all reds (or oranges) together and solder those to one of the 7, then all the blacks (or browns) to another, and that then gives me 5 separate signal leads to play with, but only one plug to pull apart each time. Also, if you need to do two wing halves (i.e. not a one piece wing) I have the male end on one wing half, and the female end on the other, and vice versa from the Rx, that way you can never get the port and starboard connections mixed up, and avoids the absolute horror of you unexpectedly turning right when you aim to turn left! Simples! No soldering required with this...and the 'colour coding' is different for each extention, so mix ups aren't an issue...unless you are colour blind or REALLY cack handed...

Nope, just slip some long nosed pliers into them and squeeze them over the plugs...although I do put them over the 'male' end and slide them up to the 'female' end.
  7. ...and if I could figure out how to post oics from my iPad, I'd show you what I did...
  8. Whilst putting together another airframe, which meccessitates the use of an abundance of extension cables...Aileron leads, flap leads, y-leads etc....I realised it was going to be a nightmare to label them all.... So I came up with an idea using a different colours of fuel tubing to identify the various male/female connections...easy and simple, plus very tidy too
  9. What about the french programme "The Aeronauts"...dashing around the sky in Mirages....top stuff
  10. I have had great success with light glass cloth and Poly-C or also by using, pva and brown paper (preferred method)
