  1. mines a couple of years old now but I think I used around a ounce of ballast??? and yes it did stall at first, move the cg forward, The old saying goes that with the cg too far back it'll fly once, too far forward and it'll fly badly. love to see some pictures of yours.
  2. Jeffrey this my invader, its free flight but it should help you in getting yours trimmed, mine weighs just under 4 ounces, the cg is on the main spar and the only packing it needed was 3/32 under the wing trailing edge. I do agree with you about using to many strong bands, I only use 2 rather thin ones, I use those the postman drops! I bungee launch mine using a home made affair consisting of 10 yards of 1/8th elastic and 15 of 6lb fishing line, even at full stretch the wings show no signs of lifting off the fuselage. The most important thing is to have the hook in the right place mines 3/4" behind the nose skid.

  6. I've got a invader, flys superbly, bit late now but I'll take a few measurements tomorrow.
  7. I agree Barrie, ordered some props from them last week, arrived 26 hours later ( and im the opposite end of the country from them).
  8. Sorry Steve, I can only agree with the others, it's frankly horrible and not worth a thing...bit brutal I know..
  9. Absolutely marvellous, aeromodelling at its very best, superb model and a superb pilot, so nice to see a scale model flown in a scale fashion.
  10. He'll probably offer you twenty quid but try and sell it for 2 grand after his band of bodgers have dragged there knuckles over it.

    WD40

Good thread Doc, for the life of me I can't remember where Brian said about not using it on phosphoru bronze, sadly a bit late to ask him now, what magazine did write under the name of "the wizard of oz"? At the time it made sense to me to the point of never using it on bronze, oilte etc. I only ever use it to silence squeaky door hinges although I do agree about the smell.

    OS40FS

Along time ago I seem to remember Brian Winch talking about wd40, apparently it will attack phosphor bronze bushes.
  13. How about a Vic Smeed "Gamine"? it was a free plan in the magazine a while back, a superb performer and perfect for your engine. I've built one, rudder only and using a Irvine mill's.
  14. lHere's one of mine, I dabble in a little aviation Art, been lucky enough to sell a couple as Well!
