  1. Do as Dave Bran suggests and glue them in place. It's not worth, either in economy or in time, the effort of replacing the cases.
  2. The musical theme from 'Titanic' seems appropriate.

    BREXIT

    It's already dropped pretty heavily.
  4. I'm with Jim Carss every time. Make card templates then you can replicate parts very quickly. Just trace around the template. Useful in case of a part/complete rebuild. The other thing is cutting a former from a piece of paper stuck to balsa is sometimes difficult if the grain 'takes the blade' as there is nothing solid to guide the blade. True making a template takes more time but this is either a swing or a roundabout. I've always used this method employing picture mounting card.  It's a personal choice. 5. Yes, I tried that John. I even uninstalled the programme and the re-installed it, which still did not cure the problem. I'm using Chrome at the moment now.
  6. Thanks for the comments chaps.
  7. I've used Firefox for some years and have the latest version on the computer but this last week it has been acting very oddly. It will not allow me to get onto Outlook any more. I get the message that the site is unsecure. Sometimes in the last few months I've received an 'Oops! Sorry! message and have had to restart the browser. I've dumped F/Fox and am looking for a good alternative (apart from Internet Explorer). Any suggestions?
  8. Ole Bernie has been saying that there seems to be less interest in F1 these days and new thinking is required to generate a revival. Is Sky the way to do this?  I think not.  Sky et al are grabbing all of the main sports. The next step with these people will be pay per view. They are greedy for money. Well for that matter, so are the F1 masters. Sky, Pah! Edited By Barrie Dav 2 on 25/03/2016 08:15:25
  9. I hope it all works out ok then. Best of luck with the Falcon. I hope that you will you be submitting pics of the completed job? Barrie
  10. Are you 'Fosse Septique' Ernie? If you are, I'm sure that you will be aware of what not to put down into the septic tank. SuperU sells a pipe deblocker that's safe for the system and will not kill off any of the essential bacteria.
  11. Thank you David. Much obliged!

    F.1

I can't find the TV schedules for this year's F.1, By that I mean who's broadcasting tv coverage now that the BBC has given their rights away (except R,5). I know that Sky will be showing the races on tv but I thought that ITV were to share the events with Sky. Also will BBC be showing highlights as per last year? I can't find any info on line.
  13. That's what I call a scale model!! Well found Pete!
  14. Thumbs up for Airtek. I write from personal experience. Always helpful and polite. Bravo Airtek!
  15. If you want to go into the subject of weather/thermals etc. get hold of the book:- Meteorology For Glider Pilots by C.E. Wallington. For most modellers the publication mentioned by russ d, above, will be simpler but to those who want to delve further, Wallington's book is a gem especially if aspiring to full size gliding.
  16. I bought a Lidl electronic vernier some 6 years ago and it's still on the original battery, Luck of the draw?
  17. I agree with Myron too. Lets have less of drones or whatever they are to be called in RCM&E. Yes have some space for the subject but put a strict limit on it. These devices have their place and people are entitled to use them, hopefully responsibly but there is becoming too much coverage in RCM&E. If drones are so popular perhaps a publisher somewhere would consider 'Drone Monthly' or something like that for a new mag.
  18. I'm afraid that I agree with Mowerman
  19. If you can afford it get both. I've found many applications where each one was the most practical.
  20. Thank you for your advice gentlemen. I will have to make up my mind based upon your comments. A happy New Year to you all.
  21. Having pondered awhile regarding upgrade from W.7Home Premium, I regret to say that I'm still not sure about changing. I've had no problems with W.7 and reading the above I can't really detect any great advantage with the change to W.10 except that as it seems to be a cut-down program, it's a bit faster. Time has passed and forumites will have now had time to evaluate W.10. I'm not a computer wiz. and it seems to me that many choices have to be made to install the new operating system. My laptop is non touch screen and has a very good spec. I've disabled the touch pad as I hate these. Can I do this with 10? Anyone willing to comment on their own experiences with 10 since the last post.
  22. Welcome Laurie. You'll get plenty of help and advice on this forum. Just ask away!
  23. Because they often make small servos hum etc because the foam 'hinges' are usually rather stiff, like Dave Hopkins I slice the foam ailerons off and replace with balsa and real hinges. They are more free in movement and no servo problems.
