Nothing wrong with anything written above. To be honest mounting an engine is my least favourite job on a model plane be it kit or ARTF. I too will make a confession: I have x2 OS120 2S and an OS160 2SI bought purpose made OS ali mounts, drilled and tapped. They are great - they make engine mounting so easy..... so OK I am not going to go to heaven but its worth it!!

No cut outs, Dremel and a Stanley knife will sort it. Good luck Dean

Morning. I have a WOT4 XL powered by an OS120 2S, plenty of power. I used 2 Hitec 635HB servos for the elevators, mounted well back. Possibly over kill but it seems to work well? Battery placement sorted any issue re CG. Rudder is closed loop. The WOT4 XL is a fab 'plane and flies well in windy conditions. Buy one and enjoy

Consensus so seems smaller diameter larger pitch? Not what I thought originally. I have ordered some from Slough RC this afternoon in anticipation (other model shops stock props too) - I will see how they go.......... Many thanks

OK people. I have a Hanger 9 Mustang with an OS90 FS, swinging a 15x6 APC, giving me 8300-8400 rpm. Seems a little slow on the uptake Suggestions from various sources (club mates, art work on a Trueflite Spit) include :13x9,13x10-11,12x13,14x10 Thoughts please as which is the best ......

I am aware of the financial implications of stocking a model shop - for that matter stocking ANY retail outlet. I will go back and see if the shop has received a delivery? But as I mentioned previously I suspect they will not be store when I go back? Its interesting that it will take the shop a week to get them in whereas I can order them off the web and get them prob within 48 hours. What is wrong with HIS suppliers?

I could have phoned, but (i) I had time (ii) I like walking round model shops.....

I went to my local model shop today with the intention of buying several servos - £40-£60. I had the choice of two within 30 miles. As I was short of time I went to the nearer one approx. 7 miles. I asked did they stock servos, yes we do said the helpful fellow behind the counter, then I would like four please, ah we haven't any in stock, we should have some in stock in a week? I could have ordered them off the web first thing this morning and chances are I would have them the following day...... I did try and support my local shop but it is very difficult. I appreciate that a model shop has severe competition - I may try the shop again in a week out of curiosity to see if they have any in stock? the cynic in me thinks ......

Hello! A Hanger 9 Spit with an OS90 flies really well, mine is 6yrs old and flow now and again, but as you say the model is hard come by. Watch out on E-Bay - bargains are possible. Alternatively if Seagull do one I would recommend them as I have just bought a Skybolt, originally wanted a Black Horse Pitts - less expensive and well made ARTF. The Seagull FW190 looks fab, see the FB site for Seagull.

Hi All. I bought a Seagull Skybolt at the Nationals. Lovely plane - good alternative to a Pitts. Its an ARTF that went together well, OS120 2st up front, servos at the back for elevators - balanced as it should. My question is the undercarriage is a neat fix with metal bolts that are well into the fuselage and be really difficult to sort if the Skybolt has a heavy landing... has anybody got any experience of this model? Hi All Today (Sunday) is the first reasonable day for flying for 3 weeks in my part of the world. Except that it is cold seriously cold. The inevitable problem of keeping hands warm? I have read articles in the press re gloves and transmitter bags. Despite them both getting positive write ups I do not see many (if any) flyers using the? Has anybody got any thoughts or real practical experience of this problem and a solution?

I take your point re individuality, at the mo discussions are underway and the club members will decide, that's democratic. We may come up with some sort of compromise ie limit engine size? We shall see. I will update as and when. Thanks for your thoughts

I have received my August copy of RCM&E. Is it just me but drones seem to be taking over the pages? I accept that they are RC models but ..... there must be space in other magazines that cater for horizontally whirling propellers? Please less of them in RCM&E

My club allows modellers to fly alone, the majority don't. My club has 20-30 members, average age will be above 40 (risk of heart attack?)While at the flying field on a recent Saturday enjoying one of the rare good flying days I switched from flying my WOT4 to my WOT4XL. I rearranged my pit area to allow for the larger model, made sure that the restraints were up against the tail plane, moved my flight box, battery etc back a few feet, placed left hand on the fuselage behind then prop, grabbed the starter and pushed it against the spinner, switched on, prop turned, the OS120 spun into life with typical OS reliability, took my left hand away from the fuselage and spinning prop - next I remember my right hand went into the prop!!! I don't know how!! I wasn't distracted by other modellers and didn't do anything different from thousands of times before. Had I been on my own my situation would have been worse, not insurmountable - but as friends were there to take me to A&E, put my models away etc. all worked out OK. I was lucky no permanent damage Discussions are already underway to have a rule change..................

Yes my club allows lone flying, but I have heard verbal advice not too, which makes sense as we share with a relatively quiet full size field!!!!!!! I personally don't fly on my own

Saturday 0900 -1900, Sunday 1200-1800, Wednesday 1200-1800, Electric after 1800-2000(?) Tho we are really a Saturday only club as most people do other things on Sunday which is shame......................So as we have had strong winds most weekends flying has been limited................... emigrate?

Dear All - I have just had to re-bind an 8 channel rx - no problem. However nothing works!! It seems as tho tx/rx has become unbound? My suspicion is that I connected the battery the wrong way around after binding? Probably a senior moment? My question - would connecting the battery the wrong way around wreck the rx? (expensive mistake?)

My club does allow solo flying. The club site is a little isolated. The majority of members do not fly solo, it is only a few. Personally I choose not to my solo as accidents can happen......

I read the Wots -Wot review , would have preferred an IC version. Looks great, like the body mods, not sure about the cg - my Acro-Wot has an OS120 2s up front and it balances without the addition of further weight, I also reinforced the u/c, I believe that new Wot 4 ARTF has f/glassed reinforced u/c - no mention re strength of Wots Wot u/c. I may wait until the first production run have been built, flown and possibly bent before buying one, tho buy one I will

I know this is a little late in the discussion but - I have acquired a Moki 135, inverted in a Pitts, 20% Oil, 10 Nitro, OS No. 8 plug and it doesn't start, not even a splutter!! I take note of the poss need for low oi content and will try, any other sugestions gratefully received. Thanks

Did thinik about hand launching it ... despite almost 20 years flying I have never hand launched, its a possibility if I put something a tad more gutsy than a TT46  Dean
