  1. I think this is good news, the the prices have risen but so has just about everything else. If they have the spares range to over all engines great. I am sure there are plenty of people with an ASP or SC engine that is is awaiting that one spare part to get it running again.
  2. I was scammed a while back when I placed an ad for a silencer. So and so had a mate who had one. I contacted said mate, paid via pay pal, never heard any more. Luckily it was only £20 but could have been worse. I have now stopped buying anything on this site.
  3. An SC 52 FS. I figured that would be OK. I have a throttle so if I dont need all that power I will ease off.
  4. Almost finished this build now. Fitted the motor today, checked the CofG which luckily is almost spot on. The only thing I need to do is make and fit a windscreen, then wait for a nice calm evening
  5. Just to say what brilliant people we have on this site. Someone offered to help me out with a problem. They offered to send me a part which I could fit to see if it would help. If it did I could pay them. If it didnt I could return it just covering their postage. Amazing generosity.
  6. I remember going to Much Markle several years ago and there was a chap with a Puppeteer with a 120 four stroke fitted to it. He informed me that with that much power he could prop hang the model. My answer was... Why.
  7. Maybe when I have finished my current build I will take it in hand and put it under the knife. It will keep me occupied when the nights draw in.
  8. It would require major surgery. If I was to start cutting it about I might just convert it to electric although that would go against my religeon. I I like to have something oily and noisy up front.
  9. The reason I want to try a pump is because a few years ago I built a Stolp Starlet. The engine is mounted sidewinder fashion. The tank sits quite a way back but is on a level with the engine. It was fitted with an OS 70fs. I set this engine up on my test rig and it ran well with a nice idle, however when I fitted it to the model although it would reach peak RPM and was OK mid range it would start to hunt and then cut out when it came to idle. I bought new fuel fitted a new plug and it was still the same. I removed it put on my test rig and it ran perfectly. I had a spare SC 70 fs so decided to fit that Same result, would not idle. I decided it must be that the tank is too far back and that a pump might help. Also since building this model it has only flown once and I would like to get it going again
  10. No one seems to stock Perry pumps in this country. Spoke to Weston UK and they dont do fuel pumps. I will keep searching.
  11. Thanks for the replies. I will check them out.
  12. Is there any way of retro fitting a fuel delivery pump to supply fuel to an SC 70 four stroke.
  13. Yet another nice evening here in South Gloucestershire. Spent the afternoon cutting our strip with my mate and the sit on mower. Took my Precedent Stamp for a couple of flights afterwards. At a rough estimate I reckon I built it 25 odd years ago. Powered adequately by an SC 90 FS.For some reason it has always needed a load of down elevator trim and on take off always swings to the left unless I open the throttle slowly. Still looks nice in the air though.
