  1. OS 40 FSR.Never run, never mounted. 1970's engine boxed with instructions. Collectors item. Sensible offers.
  2. Nice SC engine which has had very little use
  3. Nice SC engine which has had very little use
  4. I need a silencer so I can Run this engine.
  5. An elderly lady living close by rang to see if I could help with her jigsaw which she couldnt do. I asked her what it was and she told me it was a picture on the box of a big red rooster. I popped in to see her, I explained she would never complete the picture, to sit down and whilst I was making her a cup of tea to put the cornflakes back in the box.
  6. OS 40 FSR good compession, smooth bearings. No silencer
  7. 6Nice ASP 70 FS. Smooth bearings and good compression. Surplus to requirements.
  8. On thinking back. There werent the regular people selling fuel at Woodspring. I managed to find this fuel on one stall and it was the only one they had. I wonder if it was not actually Pro Synth but something that was in one of their containers.
  9. I cant agree with that. I have been running both ASP and SC engines for years without any problems.
  10. A few months ago I was running up an ASP 70 FS on my test bed after fitting new bearings. When I went back to it a few days later I could hardly turn the needle valve. After a bit of investigation it turned out that the problem was being caused by the rubber "O" ring on the needle valve. Couldnt quite work out why and put it aside for further examination. Fast forward to a few days ago and I was running a brand new SC 61 on my test rig. When I went back to it the following day, same thing. The needle valve could hardly be turned The rubber on the needle valve had swollen. I can only assume the fuel I am using is causing the problem. The fuel is Pro Synth 2000 with 10%. I bought this at woodspring in 2024. I will stop using it and get some different fuel and fit new rubber rings and see how things go.
  11. I was Christmas shopping with the wife and after a few hours I was getting a bit worn out so decided to take a detour. My phone went with the inevitable "where are you". I said you remember when we were first married and didnt have much money. She sajd yes I remember. I said you remember that jewelers that had that lovely diamond ring in the window that I couldnt afford at the time, she said oh, yes darling I remember. I said well I am in the pub next door.
  12. Had it for years. When I joined the Army in the sixties there was no proper ear protection apart from a bit of wadding poked in the ears. I spent a lot of time firing the SLR rifle which was high velocity right next to the lug hole. This combined with my job running up and testing engine power packs at full RPM to check governors did the damage. It was only later on that proper ear defenders were issued for range and other work. I find that day to day it isnt that noticeable. It is when there is no backround noise that it becomes intrusive.
