  1. To coin an eighties phrase " loads a money!" Then I could treat myself to a new workshop, my own strip and some new scale jets. Okay, I'm only dreaming, but will settle for a weekend or sunshine, not too cold and with less then 10 mph winds and no fog!
  2. Tony, This has watered my appetite to try depron, rather than balsa and ply for my next build. What to you do for loading bearing areas and wing spars, still use ply/balsa or carbon fibre? How do you glue depron to depron and depron to wood or carbon fibre? I have only every used UHU on depron before. Cant wait to see your finished airframe Safe Landings, RR
  3. Might be some link to cyber Monday. The important link for me is that slow connections saved me a fortune
  4. Just picked up this build montage video of Sean McHale's latest creation, a F104 from the Avonds kit. A really great build log video. Very good
  5. 30cc Spitfire now finished and OS22GT runs really well and already hand starts easy. however, i need about a Lb of lead in the nose. i've never had to secure this amount of weight before. How and where do i mount it, to engine mount, make a bracket or to the firewall. clearly the further forward i can get the better to reduce the amount needed. its a fairly standard inverted engine mounting.
  6. Definately a Dassualt Ouragan fighter bomber. Nice looking plane, like a cross between an F100 and Fiat G91.
  7. John, this is really difficult and many manufactures don't show comparative noise reductions, say same engine, same prop with standard and their exhuast fitted. a couple i have found works. i have a BCM inverted fitted on my 1/4 scale Nieuport. that is very effective. engine is RCGF 26cc, which has the same bolt mount dimensions as the dle20. i have an OS 22GT and the supplied wrap around OS muffler is superb. i think its the same mount dimensions (check) and you can buy them seperate. i have also heard many people find sucess with the wrap around evolution muffler Chris
  8. This one is nealy finished. Basis was a 30cc Seagull Spitfire, but modified and repainted closer to scale. Quality is very good, typically Seagull. fitted with OS 22GT petrol.
  9. sorry wright stuff, but i'm afraid i didn't read the 21 pages of stuff first and did realise your had posted the same.
  10. I would also add the remaining plethora of buzz words currently used by people who I'm not convinced understand the context of use or what the phrase or buzzword actually means. Edited By Reno Racer on 31/10/2014 14:32:45
  11. To add to the list the over use by politicians and the media of the term " the front line". In my experience, there is only one front line. Using the term " front line" when regarding something like rubbish collection or postal services ( not that I have any issue with either), I find annoying, especially when most who comment have never been on the actual front line.
  12. I've been watching this thread for a while. It really is quite funny how much of the same stuff seems to universally annoy us. Not sure if that's just specific to model flyers or men of a certain middle age+ bracket. Nevertheless, it does make you wonder, if all these things annoy all of us, who is committing them?? its like some ironic catch 22 scenario!
  13. I sent the ebayer selling the HK Lanc a question, asking if it's RTF or something special since it looks like the. HK one but twice the price. Something tells me I won't get a response, but it did make me feel better.
  14. Yes, stanstead is the airfield suspicious aircraft are diverted to by the QRA aircraft and ATC.
  15. Typical! RAF Typhoons, but pictures of a tornado GR4 and USAF F22. Oh well, at least they got the base name right, they were QRA Typhoons from Coningsby. I suppose anyone outside aviation circles will not know any different
  16. i see they've put the price of the OS 22 back upto £249, still the cheapest mind. I too had not heard of them, but having found them, i will definatley use them again.
  17. If anyone is interested, the new OS 22GT petrol engine has good reviews, particularly the silence. OS have clearly spent time getting the engine package right; why would they risk their reputation otherwise. i have just received mine and I can tell you it's the best quality petrol engine package I've seen for a long time. No need for an aftermarket silencer and no silly non walboro carb, so I can still use for 30:1 ratio mix. I bought mine from pro build for £219 delivered, which is a good £100 cheaper than most other suppliers. It was also delivered next day, with great customer service.
  18. Cymaz, very nice, but might a stretch to get without SWMBO attention. I have looked at the Roto 25 2 stroke petrol. I' m finding it difficult to find an engine for my Seagull 80' Spitfire, less the recommended OS 22 GT. The firewall to prop driver is between 145 and 150mm, hence my previous question about these dimensions on your Evo 33. Already selling my Raptor 30 and H9 Denight Special ( see my post on ebay adds by forum members) to help find this build.
  19. I'm very interested. I need a petrol of about 30cc for my Spitfire and would prefer a 4 stroke. The NGH 38 is too long and I'm not convinced, the Saito's are just too expensive. A competitively priced Laser, IMHO, would capture the market. Jon, when do you see it been ready for sale? regards Chris
  20. Not a great shot, but you probably work out what it is: seagull 30cc Spitfire Mk9, now just need to save for 30cc petrol and some MG servos (10).
