  1. Really nice job Steve , I bought mine about 5 years ago (second hand ) and have flown it on various engines the present one being an irvine 46. Your thread has made me think that i ought to refurbish mine but i doubt it would end up looking as good as your machine ! Don,t forget to show us some flying pics . This is my mine when it had 4 stroke power but no cowl Edited By Les Littleton on 08/10/2013 20:01:15

  3. Throttle trim failed on my DX8 on Sunday, spoke to service at horizon on Monday and a new trim switch arrived today ( Tuesday),the radio is almost 2 years old and the part was supplied FOC although i paid the the postage. Horizon Hobbies have always provided an excellent level of service for ther products . Thanks guys.
  4. My last experience with hobyking was unfortunatly very different, order placed (small parcel) then endless weeks of waiting. After many exchanges with customer support i was informed that the parcel was back in hong kong because it had not been collected . I was amazed at this because the parcel was small enough to be posted through the letterbox and in any case there had been no note left by the post office to say they had attempted to deliver. ( We know our postie and he is very good and would have left the parcel with a neighbour and put a note through our door). After more exchanges hobbyking finaly credited my account with the purchase price of the item but even after further promises of a refund of postage it never happened . I recently attempted to order some small items using my credit , total wieght of items was less that 80 grams and they wanted over £22 postage from hong kong . i cancelled the order and will wait untill items are in stock in the uk. Not very happy with Hobbyking. Edited By Les Littleton on 20/08/2013 19:58:13
  5. Had a great day at Cosford, great flying and excellent trade tents. I was acompanied by the present Mrs L who blew the moths off her purse and relieved Inwoods of an Acrowot and an OS55 to provide the urge . (its not even my birthday for another couple of weeks ) The forecast is good for sunday so get there if you can , best show of the yea.r
  6. How about extentions at one or both ends and on the sides . Maybe fixed with simple hinges and locked with a sliding bar or a swinging gateleg arrangement , again fixed with simple hinges.
  7. Depends weather your black cat is related to a nigerian prince ! Dont forget where you got this advice when you get your new found wealth. I will send you my bank details to pass on if it helps with the process.
  8. Good news is that the weather forecast for Sunday is good so this should see a full flying programme and all the retailers open all day. I can,t make it but hope you all have a great time . Enjoy ! Edited By Les Littleton on 15/06/2013 19:54:07
  9. Unfortunately i cant make Weston park this year, as i am busy both days . I will however make sure that nothing gets in the way of a visit to the LMA show at RAF Cosford . I hope the forecast is wrong and sunday turns out ok weather wise. Enjoy !
  10. lace ,zip or velcro , maybe just pull ups ? decisions decisions! . Oh no , different colours ., aaarghhh
  11. Looking good Chris. Sorry for not commenting more, but i have been keeping an eye on the rebuild between trying to progress with my workshop when time allows . Its going to look superb in the air and i hope there will be a video of the maiden ? Keep up the good work. Les
  12. This is something i would love to do . Need to find a victim, (sorry i meant glider guider) with faith a plenty . Thanks for the video
  13. Ok so i promised myself i wouldn,t buy any models this year. So far so good , with just a couple of exceptions. 1 auto gyro and 1 Trex 450. The rest of the non existant modeling budget has been sunk into the build of my new workshop, about £1200 so far with about another 6 or 7 hundred to finish . The bad news is that The LMA show at RAF Cosford is a must do and thats always an expensive day !. Bring on the good times.
  14. My DX8 is an early one and has been returned for firmware update and Horizon also fitted new gimbles. No problem since ,and i have to say the service was first class.
  15. It,s Wittaker, looking for the 5p he dropped at a fly in back in 2001. Is the catapult to return said 5p ?
  16. Got it Chris, cheers. Looks ok,and i think this puts my radio on a par with other mid range units that already have sailplane menus.
  17. You wont regret it, it,s a cracking model .
  18. Following with interest Chris, great video of her flying . When will this lovely aircraft be flying at the shows again . Good luck with the rest of the rebuild. les Edited By Les Littleton on 02/04/2013 06:45:19
  19. HI , DX8 glider program is on the Spektrum site. You need to log into your account then go to community and from there into model presets, look down the list and you will find the download for sailplanes. Hope this helps. cheers
