  1. Bob, thats a big aerial you have there! 35Mhz. Could it be interference from two switch mode bec`s? Sometimes one is enough to cause problems and you have doubles of everything.Trying to keep maximum separation may be difficult for you.
  2. Bob, another thing you could try is another Transmitter, your problem seems to be affecting both motor systems, could it be a dirty or bad track on that stick axis? Maybe try driving it with a servo tester or from a different channel BUT be aware you will have to make sure stick is held low when switching on or the motor may start up - but I think the hobbywing series have safeguards to prevent it. Mal
  3. Yes please David, I really need something to cheer me up.
  4. Board came today, many thanks. Will be some time before I can do anything with it.
  5. I was going to suggest a dirty on/off switch in the Tx during switch off, thus failing to save settings. Loose cell did just that it seems. P.S. I never took to spektrum so am not a user.
  6. I am getting used to the differences now and not found anything to dislike so far. One suggestion though, long long ago you could set to go to the last post in a thread( i`m pretty sure). As it stands at the moment you have to scroll all the way down to get to it. When you get there and find just a `smiley` or a +1 it gets a bit frustrating, especially if you are catching up on a few days worth. It would be much easier to scroll up from the last post to where you were last. What do others think?
  7. Yes please, depending on weight of course, maybe a ducted fan model.
  8. Joe / Alan, just a thought but have you eliminated a bad or dirty track on your throttle channel on your transmitter? That could cause the same symptoms.
  9. My copy came at the end of june and I had a cursory scan through before rushing to QA hospital in Portsmouth concerning my Father. As a result I havent been on here for some time. I have been wondering which section to ask this question, having searched and seen no prior reference. Page 16 Photo `Steve Carr`s Extra 260` Whats with the 4 cell battery on the tail skid?
  10. Andrew, On the plan do you have two wings (L&R) or are they superimposed such that you build one at a time over the same drawing? If that is the case are you expected to build a particular wing first and could that explain it? Mal
  11. Yes please - me too. Shame there is no RCM&E hat up for grabs! (hint hint)
  12. Hi all, This may not be the same problem but i have had spinner run out also. Not only with this type fitting but also with collet type. Using APC `style` Electric props. In my case I found that when tightening the prop the raised prop size (8x4 10x6 etc) on the front boss , being on one side, stopped the spinner tightening up level. The prop ran true but the spinner appears off centre. Might be worth a look ? All I did was face the lettering off level and it was fine. You could try tightening say a nut, or stack of washers in place of a prop and see if it changes anything? Simple I know but worth checking. Mal
  13. Yes Chris still doing it to me as well, IE and winXP
  14. I hope I`m not tempting fate here but so far ( touch wood etc ) I have had two clear days on here with no problems. This follows 8 updates from microsoft at a closedown. I`m so happy ! I only hope it has been sorted for good. I wasn`t too specific when I posed my original question, because if you were also suffering the same you would have known about it. Thanks all for your concerns and suggestions, hopefully this is the end of the matter   Many thanks   Mal
  15. Thanks for that Ian, I`m still following. looks like I have some more reading to do!!
  16. Thanks all. Didnt get much sleep last night so I`m not in the best state of mind at the moment Our elderly dog is at the Vets as I speak, second visit and not much hope. Anyway as mentioned McAfee comes as part of my BT package and has been working fine since they changed from Norton I believe they used before. Yes they all take over your machine and you dont know what does what these days - imagine how fast your computer would be without them ! Unfortunately that will never happen. I am still using XP at the moment and it seems that is the affected operating system, guess you guys have deeper pockets than me and have later packages. I`ve been through them all up to XP and as it works, have stuck with it without problems till now and it will hopefully be resolved in time. SWMBO`s computer is also fine on XP and both my sons computers are fine (on later packages) --- I think they`re picking on me! I`ll crack on when I get my head straight. Many thanks, Mal
  17. Hi Martin I`ll check in to that tomorrow as its nearly time for bed, and sorry it should have been netguard I think and not net protect. It would be better for McAfee to get a patch out in an update to my mind as then I would know they have identified the problem and have done something about it because it has been going on for a long time now. What happens when the next normal update comes out is what concerns me as that may cause conflicts with my meddling. Will check in the morning and if anything else comes to light I will let you know, thanks again. Mal
  18. Martin - thanks for that, I had already seen those. I came on here in desperation really. What happens is a pop up appears stating that the `McAfee service host` has encountered a problem and has to close, do you want to tell microsoft about the problem ie send an error report. Thats all it says, nothing about the actual problem or even if it is being forwarded to McAfee or Microsoft. Reading through the collected error logs doesnt tell me much either. As for disabling net protect, whatever for ? thats part of the supplied protection and may lead to other vulnerabilities.   Its the first time I have had a niggling problem that has not been resolved and thats going back to the 70`s on my first computer which was a home built UK101 (british OHIO superboard) much upgraded I might add as 2K of RAM wasnt a lot - but thats what the kit came with initially. Bring back DOS I say! You could do things with that!!   Well thanks all for your help looking etc, I`ll put up with it for a bit longer and see what happens and if it gets too bad then do something about it. Again - many thanks Mal
  19. Well thanks for looking, it seems I will just have to put up with it!! It comes as `BT net protect plus` as part of the package I have, oh well maybe it is just me. Its just done it on Amazon as well. So far (touch wood etc) it hasn`t appeared on here yet. Its so frustrating !!
  20. I have been getting this problem for some weeks now, and am wondering if anyone else is having similar problems.   I spend most of my computer time browsing on here and thats when it `occurs`   A site search finds no hits so maybe not. Its very annoying and the `collecting information` process stops the website reloading, slows my computer down and leads me to come out without logging off etc only to do a restart and sometimes for it to re-occur minutes later.   I am not alone with this problem as the McAfee forum shows. It seems they are incapable of sorting it out as they are unable to duplicate it. I have sent many reports to them as requested so they must have at least somewhere to start!   I am frustrated and just looking for a possible common link if one exists. Am I alone?   Mal
  21. Simon, I have tried it on some test pieces and can confirm it bonds nylon onto pink foam quite nicely. It dries very brittle as a wood glue so thought it worth a try as it would sand well - it does! I havent used it in anger yet, still waiting for the right application. Pot life of the resin is quite short, it goes hard (must find a use soon!). All I can suggest is you try a test piece yourself and see what you reckon. It did produce a nice hard shell on my trial canopy and will take all kinds of paint. Mal
  22. Looking at the elevator linkage it would work fine if it was originally "reed" driven (using a seperate trim servo). Could the model be that old?? One servo used for elevator - self centering One positional servo used for trim - not self centering Just a thought and giving away my age !!
