As already mentioned, anything by Iain Banks, all Brilliant!... His sci-fi stuff Iain M. Banks are also amazing, the culture novels are a series but don't need to be read in order.... If you fancy a heavyweight but VERY entertaining try Umberto Eco's Foucaults Pendulum a fantastic tour of European Mysticism and conspiracy theory. Just finished it for the second time and enjoyed more than the first time! CB -

Have you tried www.assaultglidertrust.co.uk? They created a full-size replica at RAF Shawbury from original manufacturers templates. Not sure if it's still at Shawbury or if it got moved to Cosford but if you e-mail them I'm sure they'd be happy to help! CB -
And I was hoping to see a man with 3 buttocks! I can play Didgeridoo if that's any good? CB Edited By chris basson on 24/06/2014 15:26:08

Stan Yeos PMP Carrera Glider
chris basson replied to chris basson's topic in Build Blogs and Kit Reviews
Don't think its as bad as it seemed I've offered up the aileron to the wing and mocked up the hinges with masking tape and think it'll be okay (fingers crossed!!) Yestererday I started glassing the bottom of the wing with 24gsm cloth and Wilkinsons Water Based Polyurethane Varnish(£7.75 750ml tin), and it Really Is as easy as "They" say! Off to do the top now, before glassing the wing weighed in at 250g(ish on the kitchen scales!) so i'll wiegh it again when it's done and see how much weight its added. CB -

Thanks PatMc! The 4 servo wing idea did occur to me but that would now be Major Surgery as wings are joined now! wondering how much Stan charges for a wing only kit(if he does em at all) -

Threads been a bit quiet, Sorry but any spare modelling time has gone into the build, i have taken some pics but i'm having trouble uploading! Despite my trepidation its been reasonably striaght forward, though Stans instructions could be a lot clearer! I HAVE howevermade a bit of a BooBoo! Schoolboy Error.... My building board Aint Flat!!! The first wing panel came off the board with a gentle curve along its length, probably about an inch in total, wasn't too downhearted cos its an upward curve, so i thought, as long as the other wing has a similar curve I've got Dihedral. This "design feature" has come to fruition and i've joined the wings and Yes, I've got a nice graduall curve along the whole wing, However.... The Ailerons... Top hinged, aint goin to work are they? unless I Split them half way (or so) along the length and then use a pin from the inner (servo operated) portion into the outer half. Is this the way forward??? Ifso whats the best way to achieve??? Is there a better way? or do i just glue them in place and have a 2 channel glider? HELP -
