Ultra micro 4-site
Adam Lomax replied to Jonathan Lewzey's topic in Indoor Models, Ultra Micros and Small Park Flyers
i flew one the other night flies great rolling circuits are a breeze. it does like to loose alot of hight when you turn and it is a little bit fast is you want it to be flying properly (i.e. not harriering) -
i believe that the one simon used had standard plugs on it. i already have one in a bigger shockie of mine. Edited By Adam Lomax on 16/01/2010 22:02:57

the reason i have to get another crystal is because im on a set channel at my club all of the servos and esc use the lighter plugs. to simplify, i didnt know if that reciever had to use that crystral supplied or if i could change it to one of my own small ones. sorry for the complexness
-
hi everyone im looking for a reciever for my tech one mini piaget and i have found this one on robotbirds. it says it is supplied with crystals, but can i fit my own as my transmitter is sythasysed. or are there any other ones in the same weight and price range that you would recommend and also are these crystals suitable or do i need a different one thanks Adam Lomax

never thought of using it on my fingers when playing guitar, just tried it works great and once youve done you have the joy of trying to peel it of without a layer of skin coming off with it. makes typing interesting aswell

there are many different types of pulgs but i am led to believe that they are all one size. i always use OS 'F' plugs in all of my engines

hi tom for a trainer you would probibly want a ni-mh battery (unable to get ni-cd anymore) of 4.8 volts and with a capasity of at least 700mah like this one yes you will need a fuel pump aswell you may also need to get a glow starter if you havent already to start your engine
-
any battery over about 700 mah should be fine ovcourse depending on how many flights you have between charges, im running a 1200mah pack . also as a bit of advice, i would change your batteries about every year or so. hope this helpsEdited By Adam Lomax on 18/12/2009 20:26:57

Vapor triplane
Adam Lomax replied to Tim Mackey's topic in Indoor Models, Ultra Micros and Small Park Flyers
always wanted to build one never had the time, materials or patients for that matter -
that could be something, i am using 3mm metal cleveses and 3mm threded rod. and the ailerons are the only surface im using them on. i am using fairly substantial plastic horns just realised i wasted my 100th post (only joking)Edited By Adam Lomax on 12/12/2009 21:41:11

thanks for all of the input guys just had a look at the ailerons one of them does rub at the end (supprised i hadnt noticed before) so im going to fix that however the servos have 10kg of torque and there is only a very small amount of slop (you have to really look) so i doubt that may be the cause we will have to see!Edited By Adam Lomax on 12/12/2009 20:20:03

hi i had the second maiden flight of my excelsior (if thats possible), and it went successfully. But we had one problem wich was when we got it into trim. It went fine for a few minutes, but then it would change and need re trimming and after another few minuets it would change again. i am assuming this is somhing to do with the radio, and not the airframe. im using a futaba ff9 and a r149dp reciever. i dont think its because the servos arn't centring properly because we tested that and it is fine. and it is only affects the ailerons. any help is appreciated Adam Lomax

if you want a cheaper version of the stand in the picture above. just get a saw trestle and make two 'U' shapes from copper pipe, cover them in pipe insulation to protect your model then attach them to the trestle and you have a model stand for about £10-£20
