Blue/pink/white foam. What do i ask for at the builders merchant

Bear with me here.

I have made a hot wire bow and have a 200W power supply for it.I harbour aspirations of making my own combat wing and a "fish" type areobat for the slopes.  This after noon i tried it out on some foam i had in the garage. Firstly white EPS foam that seems to have a low density, the wire goes through this like a politician through an expenses enquiry. Using some of the "brown foam i had which seems a lot denser, i could not cut very well at all. Either too fast giving a starving horse effect or too slow and melting great swathes of foam where foam there ought to be still.

So, to the question. Does the pink/blue/white stuff from the builders yard cut with the wire to an decent standard like the white stuff i had? I believe that the blue stuff also sands well?

If i go into the buiders merchant on Monday morning what do i need to ask for? Is there a particular brand? Density? a generic name even?

Timbo, the current and the Voltage can be twiddled to a max of 200W.

i have had one other go of cutting and that was a tiny wing for an Limit ex. So small i could have used a sanding block

I did manage to get something i would have been happy using from the white EPS although the block i have it is not dense enough for making a wing.

I am happy to use EPS if i can get a recommended density to ask for.
