Delta Whiskey
I've just put together a servo operated bomb drop box and fixed to the underside of the fuz via the same method the wings are attached using elastic bands, seems to work very well using channel 5 (fubbie rx) and tested using a 9v battery as a bomb on the bench, I even shaped the front of the box to a point to be more aerodynamic, now looking to make or find something suitable to drop, maybe even a parachutist, anyone messed about with this sort of thing and what did you use? Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
Only problem with a bomb drop is you, the pilot can't watch it fall!
Delta Whiskey
That's true Peter, have to get someone else to fly it ! Using elastic bands makes it easily detachable, will test tomorrow to see if it effects the flying characteristics!
Romeo Whisky
Same thing with my parachutist (£1 from Tesco). Drops so realistically - but I can't take time to enjoy watching it because I have to keep my eyes on the model I'm flying.
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
You could pull it up into a vertical cli... wait, its a trainer plane :D
Delta Whiskey
I can move my RcHero Camera so it points down, and circle around then watch it after !
Paddy Fidling
Or put a small (and cheap) camera on a larger chute! The video would be awesome!

Delta Whiskey
Well I tried it today and the bomb bay works a treat ! I used golf balls as bombs and if you judged it right and released at the start of the strip the 'bouncing bomb' ends up right in the middle right in front of me! (don't worry there's plenty of space in front and no risk of hurting anyone else for those H&S do gooders!) And Peter the advanatage of being a trainer is that I could slow it right down and easily watch the 'bomb' drop to a point, but I do agree I would miss out on a parachute coming down ! Great fun and untuil I can get another fast sports model, this trainer and it's new feature is satisfying for now !

Phil Claridge
for our clubs bomb drop competions we use a balloon filled with a spoonfull of wet sand, this gives it just enough weight
