Dummy engine for Nijhuis Lysander

Recommended Posts

Like many other builders, I used an Eflite Beaver dummy engine in my Lysander.  Unfortunately, I crashed my model a couple of months ago, and my local model shop has had a replacement dummy engine on order since then, but they seem to be out of stock.

I'm pretty sure I read recently that RCME are doing a dummy engine now, but I've been unable to find it on this site.  Is anyone able to give me a link, please?

If anyone's using the RCME item, is it worth buying (build quality?), or should I persevere trying to get the Eflite one, which fitted the Lysander cowl perfectly?

The one I got from TN is about 155mm diameter over the rocker box tops. In the Lysander I had to cut 4 or 5mm off each rocker for it to fit inside the cowl.  The E-flite Beaver engine I had originally (destroyed in a crash) was a bit smaller -- it fitted neatly in the cowl without any trimming.
