Snorbitz
Having had a small "off" recently i need to recover my wing and ideally remove the hinges to do so properly. Having gone to the trouble of getting proper hinge glue i now find that removing the mylar difficult to say the least. Has anyone else had to do this before that could maybe point me in the right direction before i break something.
Myron Beaumont
Shuglu I would suggest cutting off the existing hinges (tidying up the left -overs )and replacing them with new ones right nextdoor to the old ones . Myron

leccyflyer
Yep, that's what I do - it makes a huge mess of the wing to try and remove those hinges, just trim them flush and install the new ones next door..
Craig Carr
Defo Myrons way.... Nice, easy, and neat. Craig
flytilbroke
Ditto Myron's suggestion, I tried removing old ones and replacing them. Not a wise move, and although I did manage, I had to infill the ruddy gap first.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Yep, I'm with Myron here...digging the hinges out will cause you real hassle.....cut through them with a scalpel to seperate the hinge & then trim the mylar back flush with the wood...
