JayCee
For some reason I'm no longer receiving e-mail alerts for new postings which are listed in 'My Bookmarks' Any ideas? JC
Tim Mackey
I have just checked your settings John, and all seems OK. I note you have quite a lot of bookmarked threads - I dont think there is a limit - but will check.
JayCee
Thanks Tim Have thinned down my bookmarks to see if that helps, but didn't receiver e-mail about your posting here or three postings in my Hangar 9 Pulse thread.............very strange! Tim Mackey
Our tech guru requests that you guys that are having this issue, please check your junk mail /spam trap in case they are, for some reason, being sent there instead of your usual inbox. Post your findings back here ..TY
Craig Carr
Hi Tim, I use outlook 2007 which has a specific "junk" folder. Just had a look and nothing in there. They usually come into my normal inbox no problem at all. Many thanks CraigEdited By Craig Carr on 14/02/2011 10:57:
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I'm getting normal email alerts - but I haven't added a thread to bookmarks in the last day or so. I'll add this one now and see if I'm picking them up. Can someone stick a post in here to test please? BEB
Allan Bowker
Bookmark added, will help out with the test. Did you get an alert for this posting BEB?
Tim Mackey
I do bookmark the odd thread and now and then BEB - but as we mods get an alert for EVERY post anyway, I don't see the need to bookmark just for this reason IYSWIM.Of course, for the general members its the only real way to be notified of postings that matter to them - other than keep checking "latest posts"
JayCee
Hi Tim Still no joy, Not receiving e-mail alerts for new postings (Bookmarked) of for the arrival of new PM. Before I made my first post I checked my e-mail provider settings (Virgin Media) There is no junk mail filter in place. I was up until a few days ago getting several alerts a day................then nothing! JC
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Actually Tim I don't receive an email for every post! The only way I get alerts is via bookmarking - just like any other member. Must have a word with the boss about this! Discrimination Anyway, I did receive email alerts for Alan's, yours and JC's posts. So the basic system seems to be working. BEB
Allan Bowker
Have just received 3 alerts for this thread. Seems to be working normally for me.
Tom Wright 2
JC I am with virgin ,and my email alerts stopped a few days ago,if yours reappear could you let me know ,i will do likewise. TIM Any more sugestions?
JayCee
OK All In case it helps anybody else using virgin mail with the e-mail extension @virginmedia.com The Spam filter is automatically set by virgin media and it's in a hidden menu. It appears that when the volume of mail from a particular source exceeds a certain level Virgin assume it is junk mail and automatically sends it to the junk mail folder.........the problem is unless you alter your settings you can't access that folder. Go to your Virgin Media E Mail account go to :- settings/labels, locate Spam highlight Show Go back to you mail account locate the folder, find the Model Flying Alerts , Highlight and down the bottom tick not spam! And I thought flying was difficult! JC
