David Davis Posted April 18, 2011 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Personally I remove the steerable nose wheel assy from ARTF trainers and replace with old fashioned fixed legs. Having a steerable nosewheel is only valuable when you have to taxi. At my club we carry them to the start line and take off into wind. Far less trouble. All the engine mounts i have come across do not allow you to fit a fixed nose wheel as they have just one hole for the nose leg to slide into. Looked at the LMS for a plastic one with 2 slots at 90 degees at the rear, but could not find one where the bulkhead bolts would fit the same holes.
