Ernie
Hi DuaneLooking at the ads in a recent RCM&E, I see that the sundowner formula 1 (2045mm span) uses a 120-180 four stroke, or 26-35cc gas..sounds about right. Yes for reliability and cheap runningernie

Allan Jordan
Hi Duane, Yes, go petrol by all means! Fuel is cheaper( DO NOT TELL GORDON BROWN) Reliability is also much improved, also you won't need a glow start!
duane wallace
ok I am hooked . But have some more questions Do you need to add anything to the fuel or is it straight from the jerrycan to the tank ?How do they start ( just like glows or by pushing a button) ?Duane
geoff dales
they run on petrol +2 stroke oil . usually about 40 to 1 mix. starting is either the same as your glow motor with a starter on the smaller petrols or a good swing of the prop wearing a welders glove or a recoil starter fitted to the engine( usually bigger petrols) which is a spring type starter that you turn the prop backwards against and release it

Merton Ruck
Most of my models are petrol ign.+converted glow 2 & 4 stroke.OS40 the smallest up to 45 cc. once you convert to petrol you won,t want to know the horrible messy glow again. Michael Graff
Try some Alkylate petrol (I don´t know if you have it in Britain) It doesn´t smell half as bad as regular car-stuff.
Richard Wicker
Petrol can't smell half as bad as the stink caused by a carton of milk splitting open in the boot once on a shopping trip a good many years ago! Tried allsorts to shift the stink, had to sell it on in the end.
