Craig Spence
Hi all, Im looking to buy some scale decals or rub on transfers for my Dehavilland Mosquito. Problem is I cant find a place to buy, they need to adhere to tight curves and some with complex shapes. I have heard from a friend that he used a hair drying to make them conform to the surface. I need roundals, tail flashes and also writing, these need to be largish sizes as well (I cant state a size as im not at home at the moment). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Craig. Ian Jones
I think there several custom printers about. This is one Barry's Custom Lettering He also sell sheets of inkjet printable vinyl but only white - a search of the internet will find others. Peter Miller
Try Pyramid Models, They will produce specials and are very good indeed. You can also try BMD Graphics who have also produced specials for me. getting vinyl round very tight curves is always going to be almost impossible. Mystar
try Flightline Graphics - Nigel Wagstaff <[email protected]> they do paint masks, vinyl and waterslide decals, and rub down letters. Made to order in any scale. I intend to use them for my Topflite Sea Fury i am bulding.
Craig Spence
Hi Peter thanks I'll check them out, as for vinyl round curves I thought as much. I had someone say you can do it with a hairdryer but for the stiffener I think it's a no go.Cheers.

Alan Cantwell
please dont ruin your efforts with stick ons, they look exaclty like they say--stick ons, roundels are not difficult to paint on, and all your graphics can be done with ready made spray masks, just stick to the surface, spray with a matt colour, and remove the mask, simple, and looks a thousand times better than horrible stick ons
Craig Spence
Thanks Alan, no need to worry I've been looking at the masks on the website and they look great so I think I'll go with them.Just got to look for some small tons of spray paint now, spectrum ones cost a tenner a tin, but I don't need that big a tin.The searching continues lol.Thanks,Craig. Alan Cantwell
cheap badger airbrush, with a tin of propellant, fit the line with a wheel collet, to reduce the pressure, small tins of humbrol enamel, thinned with cellulose thinners, one tin will do twenty mossys!! and yes, i said thin enamel with celly thinners
Craig Spence
Hi Alan, been looking for an airbrush and the cheapest I could find was around £20 with propellant. Hope this will do the trick, time will tell. I have humbrol paint but was wondering, my black and white are already super thin to the point that when you brush them on they always need second/ third coats, would I still need to really thin it down?. Cheers, Craig.
