Alan Cantwell Posted September 9, 2012 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Hi guys n gals, i have this dirty great radio controlled car, 28cc pull start of road buggy, it came with one of these pistol grip wheel twist to steer it trannys, i cant come to terms with it, dont like it at all, this thing is heavy, and fast, i feel i can control it better with a standard tranny, i am thinking of converting my Futaba FF8 to spekky, do these conversions work? if it all goes wrong, its a lot heavier than a plane, this thing could hurt, anyone done it already? PatMc Posted September 9, 2012 Share Posted September 9, 2012 I converted my FF8 converted to FrSky some time ago - been solid as a rock. I don't see any reason why converting to Spekky should be any less reliable than using a Spekky Tx. But it's not a good idea to change modules back & forth between 35meg & 2.4gig - the pins on the FF8 are susceptible to loosening from the PCB.
