Jon Laughton
Hi - Can anyone point me to a website where I can download (for free?) good resolution pre WWII and WWII military aircraft insignia please? I want to use these files to make my own decals... Right now I am looking for mid 1930's RAF roundels and lettering/numbers as I will shortly be starting a new project: building a Supermarine Type 224 from the plan available through RCME (to be IC powered). Thanks!
Erfolg
I think this is what I have wanted for some time. I guess you want to produce transfers, with the minimum effort also?
Daithi O Buitigh
I've a couple .ttf fonts here (RAF, USAF lettering/numbers). IM me with your e-mail and I'll send them along Check here and here for roundels Edited By Daithi O Buitigh on 01/11/2012 11:44:

Daithi O Buitigh
e-mail on the way (I edited the post to give a couple of websites with roundels (not sure if they have pre-1930 0nes or not)
Erfolg
Daithi Have you any sites for say German, Swedish (J21 plan), French aircraft. Then there are all those other symbols, such as squadron badges, unit markings, funny chevrons, bars, squiggly lines and so forth.
Jon Laughton
Based on info from one of the sites recommended by Daithi I have drawn up a pre WWII RAF roundel in two shades of blue as Powerpoint files and as jpegs - if anyone wants them pm me
Daithi O Buitigh
Something like these Erfolg (Squadron markings)? Swedish and here also Luftstreitkrafte and Luftwaffe changed markings so often it's hard to give any one site - sorry
Broken Prop
Erflog Try here for vector graphic files: **LINK** The thread below is useful, but the images tend to be in a raster format: **LINK** Or here for stencils: **LINK** I have another site bookmarked somewhere with Luftwaffe Geschwader insignia (in Photoshop format). If you are interested I'll see if I can find it. Pete
Broken Prop
Found them! They are in the the vector graphics site noted above, under the link '900 ABZEICHEN' Sorry, I cannot read German so I do not know what that means. It is a pity, as there is a good article on the site on how to convert raster formats to vector graphics using CorelDraw. Anyone care to translate? pete Edited By Peter Ward on 02/11/2012 11:36:29 Edited By Peter Ward on 02/11/2012 11:37:
Jon Laughton
Great site Pete thanks - only problem is the files are in formats that are not compatible with a Mac
Danny Fenton
Just a note, you all probably know this but that RCGroups thread is a wonderful source of data, if the thought of wading through a 55 page thread is daunting, they have a nifty feature on that site where you can show just the images. At the top of the thread is "thread Tools" select "show attachments in this thread" and you will get a single page of thumbnails Sorry if I am teaching to suck eggs...... Cheers Danny
Prop Nut
'Abzeichen' in German is 'Badges' in English. Edited By Hellcat on 02/11/2012 12:56:
Erfolg
Information is certainly out there. The problem is finding what you want. It does appear that there is a area that has not been filled by cataloguing , the files of what is available.
Broken Prop
Thanks Hellcat. I have found my Photoshop files of Luftwaffe JG, ZG, NJG, KG and StG markings. If anyone is interested, PM me. I think I got them from the RC Groups thread. Pete
